DVD, PLEASE!!
When, when, when is this terrific movie going to come out on DVD? The mystery is great, the acting terrific and I defy anyone who sees it for the first time to figure it out!
Devil's Disciple (1959)
Burt Lancaster
, Kirk Douglas
MGM (Video & DVD), 1998
The Devil Gets His Own
This classy film mixes fact and fiction. Bernard Shaw's take on the American Revolution has all the smart touches that we associate with his plays with some scant reference to history thrown in. What makes this movie a hit are the three great actors who are all in ...
Way West
Kirk Douglas,
Robert Mitchum
MGM (Video & DVD), 1998
Way Great....
Great western, Kirk Douglas plays a ego-maniac hell bent on getting to Oregon at any cost. Widmark is in a typical role and Bob Mitchum is so laid back you'd think he was smoking his favorite herb throughout the filming.

All time favorite
This movie is my all time favorite comedy western! I laughed so hard about one seen that I almost made myself ill, but I won't give that away. I would love to own it in DVD.
The Villain
Kirk Douglas,
Ann-Margret
Sony Pictures, 1997
Nostalgia: Memories of Ann-Margret & Old Tucson
As a bit-part traveling salesman in the film, I had the distinct pleasure of having a scene with Ann-Margret where I had to steady her as the train rolls into town (actually just fifty feet back-and-forth for each take). Ann-Margret held a suitcase in each hand, so Hal ...

Why oh why is there no DVD
I first saw this movie in a theater when it was released and I was 16 years old. My brother and I stayed through a second showing (you could do that then) and went back to see it at least a couple more times while it was playing. It became and still is one of my all ...

Great Movie
This is a classic movie. It is the kind you will want to watch many times as the years go by.
Once Is Not Enough
Kirk Douglas,
Alexis Smith
Paramount Home Video, 1994
Better Than I Remembered
Deborah Raffin is really worth seeing in ONCE IS NOT ENOUGH. I remember seeing this film when it first came out and thinking it ghastly, but now when I watch it, I'm in awe of Raffin. Okay, she's not much of an actress and will never give Meryl Streep any ...
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Kirk Douglas,
James Mason
Walt Disney Video, 1997
Disney's 20000 Leagues Under the Sea
Disney's 20000 Leagues Under the Sea was one of the most influential film experiences of my youth. I definitely rate it as a five star film with good special effects, which though dated, were very good for the time. The best of the special effects scenes was the giant ...
Tough Guys

A 'Must See" For "Wannabee Movie Stars"!!!RIP Mr. Lancaster
This movie stars two of the Icons from the Golden Age Of Cinema namely Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster. These two very fine actors play a couple of ex convicts who can't adjust to life on the outside so they decide to rob one last train.Eli Wallach is also very funny ...

Words fail me
I'm one of those people who cries easily in movies. I cry at sad parts, I cry at happy parts, I have no problem with turning on the water-works. I have seen a lot of great movies in my time, many of which have indeed caused me to tear up, but NOTHING prepared me for ...

Good copy of this movie
I liked this movie when I first viewed it in the theater. This is a good copy. Some reviews of earlier versions document a bad version. For a time travel fiction story this is one of my favorites. Decent story line and it keeps up your interest.
Paths of Glory
Kirk Douglas,
Ralph Meeker

L'infamie
I'm not a Stanley Kubrick fan, nor do I particularly care for Hollywood films. So I was surprised and delighted to discover what a gem of a film "Paths of Glory" is. Well directed, for the most part well acted, well directed, and conveying a great message: what more ...
Lust for Life
Kirk Douglas,
Anthony Quinn
MGM (Warner), 1998
I can't take this anymore!
I gave this film a watch recently, after a period of about 12 years. I am still impressed by Kirk Douglas. He is DEFINITELY one of Hollywood's best actors! In "Lust For Life", he may very well have done his best work. Of course, he can't be ignored with his portrayal ...

Probably The Last Great Black & White Movie Made
I am a war movie buff. I have seen them all. Heck, I have seen Patton a million times but I just went and bought Patton in Blu-Ray. And by the way, the Patton transfer is the best older movie transfer I have yet seen, it looks as good as the day it opened at the ...
