With No One as Witness (Thomas Lynley and Barbara Havers Novels)
Elizabeth George

Harper, 2006

Hey! These characters are not real people

+ Inexcusable and audacity...
+ Was not long enough for me!

Some of this book's negative reviews, even outraged ones, have fascinated me. I too have read all of George's police procedurals. I favor British works in this genre and must remind myself that George is American. Regardless of a book's length, I am usually sad when it ends. For me it is like ...

The Sleeping Doll: A Novel (Kathryn Dance Novels)
Jeffery Deaver

Simon & Schuster, 2007

Another good Deaver thriller...

another good Deaver thriller - but this time a pleasant break from Lincoln Rhyme when he stars Kathryn Dance, a character introduced in Cold Moon. Plenty of twists and turns as only Deaver can offer - although one I felt unnecessary. Not his best, but still a very solid novel.

Bad Luck and Trouble (Jack Reacher)
Lee Child

Delacorte Press, 2007

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you

+ Great
+ Typical Jack Reacher

The Jack Reacher series is great. Some of the best parts are snippets of his past history as an MP major. This book has more of his history than any other.

Dark Harbor (Stone Barrington Novels)
Stuart Woods

Signet, 2006

Cop turned lawyer

The Margin Perfect book title--Dark Harbor. I took a break from Michael Connelly and tried Stuart Woods. So far I still like Connelly the best but Woods isn't too far behind. A Stone Barrington novel that follows the cop-turned-lawyer through a maze of suspense as he tries to solve the murders of ...

Blood Work
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2002

Not Random

+ Mystery novel with an interesting twist
+ Good suspense, a little far fetched

The hero in Michael Connelly's Blood Work is ex-FBI agent Terrell (Terry) McCaleb, who's recuperating from a heart transplant when Graciella Rivers steps onto his houseboat asking him to come out of retirement and find her sister's killer. Why should he? The answer is simple, Gloria River's was ...

+ Absorbing, informative, page-turner
+ Commentary on Consent to Kill by Vince Flynn

Lifeguard
James Patterson, Andrew Gross

Grand Central Publishing, 2006

A great thriller full of twists

+ Billy Campbell spices Patterson's latest thriller with his Broadway background, lending a perfect dramatic touch

Patterson creates a character who is very likeable and his relationship with Ellie is very likeable and believable. This is one with twists to the VERY end, and I very much liked the ending. One of Patterson's best in my opinion.

Predator
Patricia Cornwell

Berkley, 2006

Great Book

+ Analyzing the predator

I am not sure why this book got so many 1 star's, but this book was really good. I love the way that Scarpetta handles all the different twist and turn's in her life. I would recommend this book to anyone to read, Another great book by Patricia Cornwell.

This book was so amazing. What started out as a thriller with the terrorists taking people hostage, turned into a love story and a relationship between the terrorists and the hostages that you would never expect. The grim situation turns into a beautiful event, and the ending will have you ...
