Sublime
This is the 40th disk I've purchased in the series. The other recent series by Koopman, Gardiner, Rilling and Harnencourt are all great. But that by the BCJ is sublime. Suzuki's interpretations are prayers to God.

Bach performed with feeling.
+ Superlative Bach from the Dawn of the LP Era + Beautifully Performed Bach
This is an excellent recording of 2 famous Back cantatas and 3 lesser known ones. I would recommend it, especially to those who normally balk at the idea of listening to an old recording (this being recorded in 1950).
The Vienna State Choir under Jonathan Sternberg give especially moving ...

Nice Cantatas Performed Well
+ superb and varied
I have always loved the opening chorus to BWV 67. It has an almost geologic quality to it. In listening to it I can hear the rising and falling of mountain ranges and basins filling with silt and sand. What an amazing work of art.
There is something both rational and emotional about Bach ...

A tribute to Bach
+ Another good one + Excellent
I'm afraid I have limited technical knowledge of music, but I love Bach & his contatas and am writing this because there were no other reviews. I recommend this recording highly. The period instrumentation is superb, and and seems to blend flawlessly with the solo and choral singing, which are ...
