Foop! Chris Genoa
Eraserhead Press, 2005
Loved it!
+ A funny first effort from an up-and-coming author
I really enjoyed Foop! and simply can not wait for more of his stuff to get published. The story was whimsical but still had a serious note of social commentary. His writing style would make me laugh if the plot of book was a guy reading a cereal box.
Buy it, read it, give it to a friend!

The Yoga of Time Travel: How the Mind Can Defeat Time Fred Alan Wolf
Quest Books, 2004
A different angle on time
+ Delightfully Crazy Book
As a mental health professional, I recognized Wolf's context of going into the past, since I have led many clients into the past by recreating experiences that hurt them and gave a poor perception of the world. When I take them back, I can have them re-look at the experience from the ones who ...

What Might Have Been: Imaginary History from Twelve Leading Historians (Phoenix Paperback Series)
Orion Publishing, 2005
"That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history ,is the most important lesson that history has to teach us ."
+ What If? Questions we've all asked
There are several similar books on Alternate History, and this is as good as any of them. Many of them cover the same event and write an alternate version to what happened. The Editor suggests that the first rule for "What If " history-writing should be to keep it as believable as possible;and that ...

Children of Men, the P. D. James
Penguin Books, 1999
New Genre of Dystopia., 13 Oct 2007
+ Perfect for this genre... + not at all like the movie but a good read
Fantastically written. It describes a future dystopia with so much enigmatic character and charisma that you feel like you are literally on the brink. Character development is not slow or contrived; neither is the emotional impact. The characters have apparent flaws, stern resolve and lovable ...
