Sink the Shigure (Jack Tremain Submarine Thrille) R. Cameron Cooke

Fast and Fun
+ one of the best.
A true fast action thriller. Couldn't put the book down and now that I am finished I am looking for more! Follows our friend Jack Tremain from Naval studies/teaching back into the heat of the action. Jack is manipulated by his friend, or is it nemesis, Admiral Ireland into chasing down the ...

Without Remorse Tom Clancy
Berkley, 1994
Great Tom Clancy Backstory for Great Characters
+ John "Hannibal" Kelly + Excellent Book
One of my favorites heroes, besides Jack Ryan, in Tom Clancy's books is John Clark. He is a dark figure with a mysterious past. He's a man admired for his action and his word. He works in black ops but has his own moral code. Clark is a man of action. This book essentially covers Clark's ...

Red Storm Rising Tom Clancy
Berkley, 1987
The best World War III book ever!
+ Red Storm Rising a Good Old Book + Tom Clancy's best work!!!
I read this book in the early 1990s. Since then I have re-read it several times. Simply the best World War III depiction of the 80s and 90s. A great read even today, even if the Cold War is long over. The introduction hardly lasts 70 pages, and then its unfettered war, war and war. Brilliant!

Prodigal Son (Dean Koontz's Frankenstein, Book 1) Dean Koontz, Kevin J. Anderson
Bantam, 2005
Amazing
+ Dr. Frankenstein is still alive, and so is the Monster + Koontz nailed it!
This book is amazing on so many levels. It takes the traditional Frankenstein story and weaves a modern tale of secrets, deception, and corruption hidden under a thin veneer of high society. It is creepy how probable some of the things in this book are. It is a sad tale, but it pulls you in and ...

Airframe Michael Crichton
Ballantine Books, 1997
This was like an airplane ride!
+ This is why you need to keep your seat belt fastened + A different M.C.
Reading this book, for me, was like riding on a commercial airplane.
You get on the plane, all excited. You hear about what's coming up in your city of destination. You strap yourself in. You're all fidgety with anticipation.
Then you wait. And wait. And wait.
You feel like getting off ...

The Lost World Michael Crichton
Ballantine Books, 1996
Pretty good book, I would recommend this book to a friend.
+ Good, fun, fast read
I enjoy most of Crichton's books, they are usually unique and intriguing . I was surprised that he was able to still have more story left after Jurassic Park, but this book was equally entertaining.

I had already read this book years ago but just ordered a ton of Dean Koontz's books to be read again. I am very happy that I did. This was an excellent book. Somewhere in the back of mind, I kept thinking that I remembered the ending but I didn't. I am thrilled that I read this book again and I ...
