The Delivery Man: A Novel Joe McGinniss Jr.
Grove/Atlantic, Black Cat, 2008
Great Story
+ "You are not loved by anyone." + An Impressive Debut
This is a great novel. I found out about it on Urban Outfitters.com and was not disappointed. The characters were great and I could totally imagine what life is like for them living in Las Vegas as a teenager. I can't wait until his next book comes out.

The Winter Rose Jennifer Donnelly
Hyperion, 2008
If you loved the Tea Rose, you'll love this book!
+ A great historical romance + "Buy my fine parsley-o"
I loved The Tea Rose, and this story was just as beautiful and engaging. While the prose may not be the highlight (a few too many sentence fragments--for emphasis-- in my opinion, and sometimes a bit sappy), the story is a gem. Donnelly has done her research; the historical allusions are accurate ...
