Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) Paul Frees, Marcia Miner
Walt Disney Video, 2003
Great Product!!!!
+ Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates Life for Me + Pirated of the Carribean - Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean-The Curse of the Black Pearl is a wonderful and entertaining action/comedy movie. Between Captain Jack Sparrow's sotto voce comments and the crew's groveling, I found the movie to be very humerous. It was also sprinkled with action scenes that kept my attention.

Miramax Entertainment, 2002
Royale with cheese
+ It's Pulp Fiction. What more need be said? + No classic
Saw this on the big screen back in 1994, and have loved it sense. The dialouge between the characters, the memorable lines (which are several), the cinematography, the direction, acting are all first rate.
But to me the most important thing is how the stories within the movie unfold leaving the ...

State of Grace Sean Penn, Ed Harris
MGM (Video & DVD), 2002
Too often overlooked
+ 'State of Grace' picks up where 'The Godfather' left off... + A Mobster's Homecoming
I saw this film a good six years ago and the gritty, ugly, and tortured atmosphere has never left my mind; Gary Oldman's perfomance as Jackie Noonan, Irish mob psychopath, transcends a lot of what he has done since.
Who can forget when he innocently pulls out a severed finger from his icebox, ...

The Untouchables (Special Collector's Edition) Kevin Costner, Sean Connery
Paramount, 2004
Prohibition Through Hollywood's Eyes
+ Great then, and even better now on Blu-ray + Rare Kevin Costner
Thoroughly enjoyable period-piece action flick. Interesting that Predator came out the same year. The Untouchables is every bit as violent, macho and bloody, yet Predator is seen as a mindless testosterone-overflowing glorified B-movie for teenage boys (which it is) and The Untouchables is seen ...

Gangs of New York (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Jim Broadbent
Miramax Home Entertainment, 2003
Absolutely awful, but totally riveting, nonetheless!
+ Gangs of New York blu-ray + Scorsese's at it again.
This film/movie is absolutely awful, dreadfully violent, pretty disgusting, and likely to be nightmare-inducing, but it is totally riveting, nonetheless - I give it five stars, but I don't recommend watching it and won't do so myself again!
