Turbo Tax

I've used this every year and I needed the Federal without the state (No FL income tax). Amazon was the only place I could get that version so as a result it was the cheapest place to get it. Amazon always ships fast and has the lowest prices.
I was tempted to get a different software app since TT is one of the highest cost tax packages. However, I'm used to it and it is quick. We own a rental and they say to use the premium rather than the deluxe version, but the deluxe seems to provide adequate info for me.

Turbo tax is a real time saver

Tax regulations seem to change every year. TurboTax keeps up with the changes better than I can. One thing TurboTax does that its competitors do not do as well is to download 1099 data from financial institutions.

Sometimes I think that tax programs such as TurboTax have become too complex by using the question and answer format. But when I go back to the basic IRS forms I quickly find myself willing to proceed with the TurboTax questionaires without knowing the underlying details of the tax code. I fill in the computer forms and transmit them to the IRS electronically.

I can attest to the ease of using TurboTax. I am at the mercy of their beta-testers and the IRS to validate the accuracy.

I intend to use TurboTax again for my 2010 return!

I've been using this software for about 8 years now and it's still easy, foolproof, and convenient. This is the first time I've bought the software online and it was cheaper than buying it at your local retailer. Stop paying a tax preparer, this is what he is using. Like I mentioned before, this program leads you by the hand in easy step by step form. Just take time to determine whether you need the basic, deluxe, or premium editions; don't pay for what you don't need.

Beware - this does not include state forms!

I thought I was getting a deal until I went to do my state taxes and it wants $39.95 for the state software! What a hose job. Buyer beware! Live and learn... Other than that - it works great, imports all prior years info, its got help, ongoing calculation of your refund (or amount due). Been using it for years.
