2009 collection from Dave Grohl and the Foos including two brand new tracks, 'Wheels' and 'Word Forward', both recorded with producer Butch Vig (who also produced Grohl's former band, Nirvana!). This excellent collection features some of the finest melodic Rock released in the last 15 years including 'The Pretender', 'All My Life', 'Learn To Fly', 'Best of You', 'Times Like These', 'My Hero', 'Everlong', and many more.

DVD Track Listing: 1.I'll Stick Around 2.Big Me 3.Monkey Wrench 4.Everlong 5.My Hero 6.Walking After You 7.Learn To Fly 8.Next Year 9.All My Life 10.Times Like These 11.Low 12.Best Of You 13.DOA 14.Resolve 15.The Pretender 16.Long Road To Ruin 17.Wheels 18.Everlong (live from Everywhere But Home) 19.Breakout (live from Hyde Park) 20.Skin And Bones (live from Skin And Bones) 21.All My Life (live from Wembley)

Worth it for the DVD alone...

I own all of their albums and don't really need a greatest hits cd (which I think they should have called it "Best of Foo") with the exception of the two new songs, the everlong acoustic version doesn't count because It's not really a new song. I bought this because it has almost all of their videos. The only videos not on it are "breakout" and "the one" which are both from movie soundtracks and they probably didn't want to pay royalties. The CD is a good compilation of their songs, I would have picked a few more album cuts like "hey johnny park", "let it die",or a b-side like "down in the park" but that gives someone a reason to buy the albums, which are totally worth it. Foo Fighters are one of the only bands from the 90's alternative scene who are actually putting out awesome albums still that are still charting(Pearl Jam doesn't count because there last few had a lot of filler, at least I thought so and John Frusciante just quit the chili peppers). If you don't own anything by the Foo Fighters then buy this. If you do have their stuff then still buy it for the videos alone and give the cd to a homeless person and count it as your good deed for the day.

Greatest Hits not Greatest Songs

This CD/DVD is exactly what you should expect if you are in the market. I own some but not all of the Foo albums. This CD gave me the songs that I wanted from the remaining albums, in addition to the two unreleased tracks. There are songs from the foo catalog that are not on this CD that are better tracks, however this is exactly what it is called "greatest hits", and Dave Grohl has been the first to say this. If you arent a fan but like some of the songs and you find yourself curious I recommend picking it up, and springing for the DVD is worth it just because the foo fighters have a great sense of humor on display in their videos. Worth my money and my time, check it out!

Foo Fighters - Greatest Hits

My husband enjoys the CD, as he is a Foo Fighters fan, and the DVD has some great clips as well.

Not All the Best of FF

The track selection on the CD is great, not one dud and the 'bonus' tracks are a nice addition (I generally do not like such additions, "forcing" fans to buy sets). I noticed, however, that some FF staples were missing, e.g. Walking After You and DOA. Not only are those definitely among FF's GH but they would have also made the set more varied, the selections more standard rock.

Given that 3-4 tracks could easily be added to the CD, there is no excuse for their absence.

Things get more curious when going through the DVD list. There are the above mentioned songs plus a few others. Why on earth are they not included on the CD set?

Hence, I sometimes simply play the DVD when listening to the music. That added inconvenience is why I duck a star from this set.

Greatest but not the best

In my opinion all the GH of each band or singers give the possibility to open a discussion. "FF GH" is a good choice of purchase with a plus of a range of videos but with the CD you feel that would be better.
