Generator Gets Real World Test

Living on the coast of Forida, owning a generator is almost mandatory. With Hurricane Gustav looking for a victim, we ordered this generator looking for a smaller, quieter and more fuel efficent generator than the two 5.5kw generators we can power the entire house with. About a week later as Gustav passed south of us, we lost power due to the tropical force winds we were receiving. Hooked up the generator power to our 25cuft side by side refrigerator with ice in the door and it performed excellently.

SUPER FAST DELIVERY AND OUTSTANDING PRODUCT

SUPER Fast delivery using standard shipping, it arrived 2 days after I ordered it from Amazon. It arrived just as stated, and arrived with no flaws or problems, it was packaged very well. The generator started right up and provided electricity. It started it up in the backyard and my wife could not hear the generator in the house. I would recommend this product for the product and the price!

1st impressions

Ordered on Monday, recieved on Wednesday... Wow. Considering how many people in Hurricane areas are/should be buying generators I am really suprised - Amazon told me not to expect it until at least Friday.
Haven't started it yet, but the unit shows no damage - not even the feedback mentioned "broken sparkplug" problem. Very impressed so far. More feedback after some runtime...
UPDATE#1: Took it home, gassed it up with 50:1 and fired it up on the 3rd pull. Warmed up nicely and ran a dremel tool just fine. Have to run a voltmeter/load check to see exactly how well it is producing but so far it's 100%. Sure, it's a "no frills" generator, but it looks like it's going to work just fine in any reasonable application I have for it (keep 2 sump pumps running). Not bad for $100. Not bad at all.

Broken spark plug, but works otherwise

As with many of the folks here, my generator arrived with a broken spark plug. It seems that sticking out the side puts it at a greater chance of damage. It might be best to have the end user install it ... but that also assumes the end user will read the directions and/or be competent enough to understand what needs to be done.

That having been said, once the plug was replaced, the unit started up on the second pull. It rev'ed up to speed and wasn't too loud. Still I wouldn't want to be next too it for too long (but that's what extension cords are for). It easily powered the equipment I needed it to (a TV and satellite receiver ... all I need in an emergency). Other than the hassle of the spark plug, I'm very satisfied with this little unit.

Great for the Price

First off, I can't knock Homier at all. I received this generator in the mail 2 days after I ordered it. And that was with standard shipping. With that said, this generator will end up being what you can expect for a $130 generator. I specifically bought it for tailgate parties, camping, and emergency use.

It fired up immediately and ran smoothly until the spark plug wire broke off within its first hour of use. Lucky for me, a lot of my friends that I tailgate with are engineers so they were able to help me fix it right up. I haven't had any incidents with it since then.

I take it tailgating and hook up a stereo, television, and playstation 2. I also ran a rear projection big screen TV off of it during a power outage.

It runs for about 5 hours on a full tank and you can't even hear it when I put it in the front of the truck and blast the stereo out the rear.

I highly recommend this to anyone who has the means and know-how to take care of it and fix it when it has problems, because it probably will have at least a few.
