, smooth jazz saxist Paul Taylor's latest. In order of appearance, they are LaToya London, Regina Belle, Terry Dexter, and Belle again. It makes sense that Belle gets two features: Her pop-soulful vocals bring a kind of Anita Baker intensity to the proceedings. On "How Did You Know" and "Open Your Eyes," both of which she co-wrote with the album's hitmaking producer, keyboardist Barry Eastmond (who has worked with Baker), she manages the feat of adding background vocals that contrast nicely with the lead ones. There's nothing particularly distinctive about Taylor's silky sound on alto and soprano, but the doubled-horn effects provide pop and he comes up with some distinctive effects on Vocoder. Guitarist Phil Hamilton's romantic wah-wah effects also deserve mention. --Lloyd Sachs

Another winner
Paul Taylor has a real winner with this CD. The only song on this CD that doesn't do much for me is "Long Distance Relationship"; every other song is excellent.
The CD's title would probably lead one to believe this CD is full of ballads, which he always does quite well with. While that is true, with nice ones like "I Want To Be Loved (By You)", on which Latoya London shines, and the very beautiful "Summer's End", he also picks up the pace nicely with songs like the bookends of the CD - the title track and the closing song, "Point of View".
While he's put out good CDs over the years, this might be his best effort. It's a very worthy buy.

Streamline, A Love Of Your Own
This entire CD is just awesome. I really don't have a favorite because each track is just wonderful easy listening music. All though I choose this CD to be one of the best for every track being a hit, "Dry Your Eyes" is still my favorite. OKC awaits you Paul Taylor...
Grows on you
This is my first exposure to Paul Taylor and my first impressions were not good. At first I found this production too "run of the mill" but after subsequent listening I found myself enjoying this CD more and more. The musical arrangements for the most part are very pleasing. The mix of the music and the record quality is also very satisfying.

Ladies' Choice
Great CD, though not Paul Tayloresque. I bought the CD because of the title song, which is jammin!! However, I was a bit disappointed with the amount of vocals, which seems to overshadow Paul's extradordinary talent.
Praise for Paul Taylor
I was glad to see two great shows last night in Red Bank. The first band was Spyro Gyra and the second was the Rippingtons.Russ Freeman was great as usual and Paul Taylor was their guest saxophonist. He performed
