Take a wonderfully crazed excursion into the demented heart of a tropical paradise -- a world of cargo cults, cannibals, mad scientists, ninjas, and talking fruit bats. Our bumbling hero is Tucker Case, a hopeless geek trapped in a cool guy's body, who makes a living as a pilot for the Mary Jean Cosmetics Corporation. But when he demolishes his boss's pink plane during a drunken airborne liaison, Tuck must run for his life from Mary Jean's goons. Now there's only one employment opportunity left for him: piloting shady secret missions for an unscrupulous medical missionary and a sexy blond High Priestess on the remotest of Micronesian hells. Here is a brazen, ingenious, irreverent, wickedly funny novel from a modern master of the outrageous.

Christopher Moore

The author hasn't written a bad book yet. Completely amusing and the characters are well developed as normal everyday people. Very relatable. If a regular person ended up in the situations the characters do, they would react the same.

This book is wicked funny!

Firstly, I bought most of these for someone I thought was a friend. But, eventually, my husband and I got a few by this author and we LOVED this book. So engaging and funny!

Darn Near Close to Perfection

I don't ask for much when I take a vacation. I want a Pina Colada with an extra shot and a book that will make me laugh. Out loud, if possible.

That's why I always take Chris Moore along with me. Island of the Sequined Love Nun made me laugh out loud too many times to count but enough to give this book five stars and a debt of gratitude to the author. What I like about Moore is he delivers. Consistently.

The plot has been endlessly recounted here, so I won't add my take except to say that I think what I like best about this author's writing is how he seamlessly encapsulates profound philosophical insights with a maximum amount of humor and compassion. It's not unusual in a Christopher Moore book to find yourself laughing out loud one minute and stifling a lump in your throat the next.

Writing comedy of this caliber is extremely hard to do. Chris Moore is today's phenom, never having, I would imagine, to write another word in this lifetime if he doesn't want to.

Hopefully he wants to. I can't imagine a vacation without him.

Five stars. Great read!

Worth reading.

Loved Lamb. This is my second Moore book. Though I didn't find it nearly as funny as Lamb, I certainly enjoyed it and would recommend it. It's a great story with great characters and takes place in a fascinating and unique setting. I also feel like I learned a lot and will share many of the facts with others, whether they are true or not.

I will definitely read more Moore.
