Invaluable Air Circulation

If you happened upon Vornado and have never heard of it as I had not, the let me be the one to tell you, its a great fan. I own two of these clap fans, one for over a year and the other is a recent purchase. The clamp mechanism has three pivot points that allows for pin point direction of the air stream.

These fans are made well, the clamp has a very sturdy spring mechanism and it opens to 1 1/4" when the clamps are level to each other. Because of the ribbed rubber pads that line the inside of the clamp it allows for many mounting options that exceed it's level opening. The cost may be an issue but if you see that amazon is offering it with free shipping do not hesitate to purchase it. Where else can you find such a well made fan that will last you for years and not have to pay sales tax or shipping. It's a great fan and i will purchase another one soon.

Great personal fan

Although this is marketed as an air circulator, I use it as a fan. I have it pointed at me from across the room in my home office, which gets to be quite warm in the summer with my computer and six monitors.

On the lower setting, it is super quiet. Quiet enough that I can easily use the fan and phone at the same time. Medium setting is a good bit more noisy, but that would be too much air, so it's a moot point.

You can swivel the arm in just about any direction. There is a screw in the arm that you can loosen to adjust the orientation of the fan. I had to take advantage of this to get the fan where I wanted it.

This product does not rotate while running. Wherever you point the airflow, that's where it stays.

Despite the price, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Great fan, bit pricey

I bought this fan to circulate the warm air from my basement with the wood stove running to the rest of the house. It does a great job of that, I mounted it through the two screw holes that are in the clip on the base. Very quiet compared to the other corner fan options that are out there. And the volume of air that this moves is far greater. If I have it on high, I can raise the temperature of the next floor over 5º within an hour.

Now that it is summer I have it in my office. I forget to turn it off when I leave because it is so quiet. My cubor (neighbor in cube world) has a cheapo fan that is so loud, he can't stand to have it on. You really do get a good quality fan when you buy the Vornado line. This is our third Vornado product, and they are a tad expensive hence the four stars, but probably worth it in the long run.

Great Product

This is a great product for the price. I just wish there was a medium setting, because low is too low and high is really high. Also, when on high setting this fan is very loud.

Moves a lot of air and very quiet

I purchased the Vornado 540B for my RV, to move air around a bit. The fan actually moves a large amount of air, and it does so very quietly. Since people may be trying to talk and enjoy themselves, the fan noise was important, and while not completely silent, the noise is not very bothersome at all, just a bit of background. The clip is really well done, which allows us to move it around the RV with ease. From the picture, it looks like a normal squeeze clip... but it is not. The jaws are on hinges, so they can stay flat at nearly any angle as they are opened up. This allows it to grip shelves and chairbacks, and just about anything else. The spring in the clip is amazingly strong, which is needed since the fan is no featherweight. All in all, it's a Vornado and it maintains all the things people like Vornado's for. Not bad at all.
