Excellent Workout

I love this workout. I'm someone who's worked out in gyms for 18 years with and without personal trainers. I actually enjoy working out and am a bit of a health and fitness freak. I have done yoga, pilates, stairclimbing (real stairs not a machine), rebounding, kettlebells, weight training, etc. I have to say I LOVE this ballet workout. It works! I felt a difference after the first workout and I saw a difference after the fourth. I feel strong, flexible, and supple. I used to do ballet as a child and loved it. Now I'm back into it again and I can't believe I ever left it behind. I feel healthy. I mean truly healthy. I have felt fit and strong with the other workouts but with ballet there's just a feeling of well being as well. For some reason, I feel like I'm really in good shape now than I've ever been with anything else. It feels like true health not just being fit but truly healthy because I feel flexible as well as strong and that is extremely important. Anyway, that's my two cents worth. I know that other reviewers have criticized it for being slow or not having enough reps, or whatever. First of all, it's ballet, it's not fast, it's controlled and slow. As for reps, I find the reps are just fine. I am getting great results. However, if you want more reps, pause the DVD and do more reps on your own. At any rate, I give it for 5 stars and highly recommend it.

Wonderful workout, enjoyable, real incredible.

I own several workout videos and use them, I used this for the first time today. Not only did it give me the workout I needed (believe me I was sweating when it was over) but it was also relaxing and enjoyable.


I wish I could dance like them!

Great DVD! It is pretty advanced for newbies to the ballet world but WOW! I wish I looked like them, danced like them, and had their technique! Amazing! Highly recommend!


pretty great, but not for beginners

The DVD series is great. I have 2-3 years of dance experience (nothing very serious, just from indoor color guard workouts) so I was proficient in the basic stuff. I think beginners should research some of the basic moves before attempting the series because otherwise it can get a little confusing--that said, if you WANT to jump in anyway, pay attention and keep trying and you should get it eventually.

I hate feeling silly in classes or at the gym, and this workout was perfect for me. It gave me the heart racing, muscle burning sensations I got in dance classes, but I could pause the DVD to get the right form or rewind for clarification. The workout left me tired but fulfilled--every part of me was worked thoroughly.

My only hesitation would be in regards to warming up. One should definitely do some independent stretching before moving into the exercises, otherwise it feels rushed.

This series CAN be good for beginners, and IS great for people who have a little dance experience. My body feels great, and I don't feel silly doing the jumps or attitudes like I did when surrounded by a bunch of strangers. I definitely would recommend this to a friend. :)
