I love my
KitchenAid
ice
cream
maker
. I especially love making sorbets. I read the reviews before I bought mine and knew it would work for me. I keep the bowl in the freezer, mine is very cold, and use it as the instructions say. I have been cosistently happy with the performance of the bowl. Well worth it...... finding the recipe that I love is a little harder.

kitchenaid ice cream maker
I just used my new
ice
crem
maker
for my
kitchenaid
mixer. It works really well, my only complaint was trying to empty the sorbet from the bowl. I could have used an extra pair of hands to either hold the bowl or to empty it. I did overcome this by laying the bowl sideways on a case of water bottles while I emptied it into another bowl for freezing. I'm looking forward to making ice
cream
and other frozen treats this summer!
Easy to use & fast
I love this
ice
cream
maker
because we leave the bowl in our deep freeze 24/7 so it's always ready to use and doesn't take up any cabinet space. It couldn't be easier to make delicious ice cream. At parties, the guests love to watch it swirl!

Figuring it out
I'm gradually figuring it out as I go! After several batches:
I now chill everything that comes in touch with mixture as cold as I can get it. After the mixture starts churning, I slip a cheap insulated bag under the bowl and pull it up around the bowl. Then I wrap the whole thing, mixer and all, in a double thickness of towels, tucking the towel in around the bottom. (I use an old, clean beach towel) Within 10 minutes the blade starts clicking and it is already soft serve. Sometimes I let it continue a few more minutes as I watch it, but you wouldn't have to.
A handle would be n
ice
but it would have to be snapon and replaceable in case it broke, as the filled bowl is very heavy.

Easy to use - good results
This product is easy to use and the recipes included are good. We found that the
ice
cream
should be placed in the freezer for a couple of hours before eating (otherwise it is too soft). If you are new to making ice cream, note that you can't make it on a whim - it requires planning. Most recipes require the ice cream mixture (all of the assembled ingredients) to be refrigerated 6-8 hours before putting in the mixture in the ice cream
maker
.
