Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom. But she's never looked better....
Becky Bloomwood has a fabulous flat in London's trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season's must-haves. The only trouble is that she can't actually afford it?not any of it.
Her job writing at Successful Savings not only bores her to tears, it doesn't pay much at all. And lately Becky's been chased by dismal letters from Visa and the Endwich Bank?letters with large red sums she can't bear to read?and they're getting ever harder to ignore.
She tries cutting back; she even tries making more money. But none of her efforts succeeds. Becky's only consolation is to buy herself something ... just a little something....
Finally a story arises that Becky actually cares about, and her front-page article catalyzes a chain of events that will transform her life?and the lives of those around her?forever.
Sophie Kinsella has brilliantly tapped into our collective consumer conscience to deliver a novel of our times?and a heroine who grows stronger every time she weakens. Becky Bloomwood's hilarious schemes to pay back her debts are as endearing as they are desperate. Her "
confessions
" are the perfect pick-me-up when life is hanging in the (bank) balance.

So Funny!
This book is like watching one of those extreme sports shows. You know that the skate boarder is going to crash and break his arm, but you can't turn away. It was so entertaining to listen to all of Becky's justifications for buying what she thought she needed. Becky Bloomwood is hilarious and one of the most entertaining characters I have ever encountered. I think most everyone can relate to Becky and her spending, I know I could. Even with all her faults I couldn't help but root for her, and I think you will too. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!
Seriously..It had me laughing the entire time. Sad to say it was also very relatable! =)
Bloomin' Brilliant!
I am not big on shopping (I know some of you will be shocked to hear), but I LOVED this book! It's an easy read that keeps you entertained.
My sister had come to visit me in the States and could NOT put this book down. She would continually laugh out loud, while heartily recommending I read this book. I am a mum of two preschoolers and don't get much time to read, so I got a copy and decided to take it to the gym and read it while on the treadmill as I did my dreaded 30 minute walk. I ended up staying on the treadmill for 1 hour and didn't even realize it! I only got off because I had to pick up my daughters. The gym used to be a chore, but now I only allow myself to read the
Shopaholic
series when I go to the gym, as an incentive, I have been going religiously and stay on the treadmill for as long as I can! The book had me laughing out loud throughout, much to the annoyance of the serious `gym rat' puritans I'm sure....lol.
I have just finished Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (which was just as good) and will be starting on Shopaholic Ties the Knot at the gym tonight. As an added bonus I have lost 10lbs and reached my target weight, thanks to the help of Becky Bloomwood :). I don't know what I'm gong to do once I finish the series - my gym experience will certainly not be the same.
