My daughter, 4, and son, 16 months, both LOVE it. It's entertaining and educational.Fun and Educational This is one of our "must watch" television shows for our preschooler. It presents more advanced learning concepts than Sesame Street, and is even more entertaining, even for adults! The show emphasizes early reading skills in various ways. The reading of at least one book per show is presented, and as it is read each word is highlighted when spoken. There are lots of songs that illustrate a sound concept or pronounciation rule. And, just like Sesame Street, there are celebrity guests that make brief appearances. There are lots different approaches presenting the same concepts. The makers of Sesame Street have produced a logical progression for children to transition from one show to another. They have even won 6 Emmy awards, and it shows. My 4-year old has been enjoying this show since he was about two. He still gets excited to watch it, he sings along to the opening song, and he sits still for the entire show. Also, he began reading/recognizing words at age 3 and now he is reading books (E.g. beginner books like Clifford's Phonics pack of 12 mini-books). I believe that this show has been an invaluable supplement to our bedtime book reading and library visits in helping him learn to read. This Dvd presents 3 shows from the televions series. If you have watched the show, and like it, you will not be disappointed. If you have never seen the show and can't find it in your local library, take a chance! It's a great resource for preschool and elementary school children.
