New Orleans, 1959. Investor Michael Courtland's wife and daughter die tragically in a fire after their abduction goes wrong. Twenty years later Michael is in Italy and meets Sandra, a young student who bears a striking resemblance to his late wife. After winning her over he takes her back to live with him in New Orleans. Then, on the day of their wedding, Sandra is kidnapped for ransom and the nightmare begins again... An exceptional homage to the great Alfred Hitchcock with a superb score by Bernard Hermann (Psycho), OBSESSION is one of Brian De Palma's finest, a thriller where the gifted author combines the most moving romanticism and spine-chilling suspense, just as Hitchcock did.
