Not as bad as some would have you believe!
It is still somewhat early to review this product, as I have only used it 3 times so far. I have cooked chicken breasts, pork loin, and turkey burgers. The
grill
was quite simple to put together, just make sure before you start that you separate all of your hardware so you know you have it all, and you don't accidentally use the wrong item in the wrong place. I researched
electric
grills on-line quite thoroughly, and found this to be the best.
Meco
isn't even available in CO so I purchased it through Amazon with absolutely zero issues... as usual.
VERY IMPORTANT: To all of the people saying that they are cooking food on a slant and the food falls off onto the floor... they are putting it together incorrectly! Unless you are using the
rotisserie
, your cooking surface should always remain flat! The only thing that can change angles is the heating element, so that you can cook things more well done toward the back and more rare items toward the front of the grill.
Probably my only complaint so far would be to say that my heating element is automatically slightly slanted because that's the position into which it falls. I probably just need to tighten something, but I have not fully investigated it yet. However, it is nothing horribly significant. Also, the grill is smaller than most traditional propane grills, but I cook for only one or two people and it is more than sufficient.
If you can't go propane... go Meco! It's sooo nice knowing you will never run out of propane again! Also, cleaning isn't too bad, but I recommend placing some aluminum foil between the heating element and the cooking surface.

A very good electric grill
Last night I used this
grill
's
rotisserie
to make a three pound bone-in pork roast. It was perfect: browned outside; cooked throughout; tender and juicy. I've also used the rotisserie to roast a whole chicken with very good results.
Had I seen this in a store before I purchased it I would have passed it up. (I had an older
electric
grill that was cast aluminum and seemed more substantial.) That would have been a mistake.
This grill was easy to assemble. The fold down end tables are a good, space saving idea.
I've grilled vegetables, fruit, turkey burgers and turkey legs, hot dogs, sausage and chops. The tilting element makes it easier to find just the right place on the grill for cooking nearly everything.
Preheating the grill will sear meat, but it doesn't get hot enough to sear like charcoal or gas.
Cleanup is relatively easy, The reflector is not difficult to remove. The same cannot be said for material burned on the reflector. Scrubbing with steel wool cleaned most of the reflector.
This grill is a good substitute for gas or charcoal grills where they are not permitted.

Great Grill
I know that there are some mixed reviews on this product. Assembly was pretty easy. Some minor parts were missing. For $.79 at the local hardware store it wasn't worth calling the customer service to replace the parts. I've been using this
grill
non stop for about 1 month with no problems. No sliding off of the food as other people have stated. The grill gets really hot, sears meat. Steaks have come out great. Chicken is delicious ! Obviously nothing beats a charcoal grill. I think this one does the job of a simple gas grill and was really my only option since I live in NYC.

It not great but it works
I read the reviews and chose to try it out at my own risk. What I have learned from using this
grill
is that it does not get to the temp that I like and the angle they but the grill at makes all my meat to fall forward and have to close the grill and quickly as possible to prevent the meat from falling off. But it cooks the meat and I can use it at my apartment.
