Pilot three different variants of the F-16 Fighting Falcon -- the best multi-role fighter ever built -- including Block 40, Block 50/52 and MLU variants. Ultra-high fidelity physics modeling closely simulates actual aircraft performance. Engage the enemy in two operational theaters -- Korea and the Balkans -- each covering over a million square Kilometers of territory. Dogfight over a wide variety of landscapes: wide seas, open grasslands, dense forests and snow capped mountains. Fly nap-of-earth missions through detailed terrain and undulating valleys. Launch a variety of air-to-air missiles like the AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9 Sidewinder. Deploy a vast array of air-to-ground weaponry including the AGM-65 Maverick, AGM-88 HARM, cluster bombs, slick and high drag bombs and laser guided ordnance. Weapon systems are simulated using the most accurate publicly available specifications. Go up against challenging enemy aircraft, sea and ground defenses all of which employ real attack and defense tactics Experience authentic Air Traffic Control procedures with stacks and talk down via your aircraft's radio See busy airbases with parked and taxiing aircraft, helicopter traffic, and aircraft takeoffs and landings Vastly improved AI (Artificial Intelligence) for better ground strikes and air-to-air combat Improved airbase handling and ATC (Air Traffic Control) Improved graphics engine including lighting and shading Windows 98 / ME / 2000 / XP // Requires 3D Direct-X Video Card with 64MB or more

This old game stood the test of time...

It's already 2008 and I just bought Falcon 4 Allied Force. Looking at the competition, this game still is one of the best combat sim in the market (in terms of features and simulation quality). Best of all, it does not have any technical issues with more modern hardware and OS (I'm running on Vista and NVidia 8400) despite its age.

Greatest flight sim ever

Title says it all. I hear that Lead Pursuit's next flight sim will be even better. I can't wait for it. If you want to learn all you can about flying the F-16 without having the opportunity to sit in one, then this is the flight sim for you.

CULT Following.....

Well, after purchasing Falcon 4.0 WAY back years ago for my Mac, I HAD to get this. It's stable, and runs great. Graphica are becoming dates now, but they have terrain updates out there...Hi-tiles is good.

BUY IT if you want THE F-16 Flight sim......it's a BEAR to fly and do all of the stuff you need to do, but it's realistic and no one said flying the real one is easy without training.

THe manual is 600 Pages...so start reading now.....

;)

I have been playing with Falcon since 3.0 and very much enjoy the series. I had a recent head injury and the shrinks want me to play Brain Games type of stuff to help rewire things.
I told them that I was using this flight sim game instead and they think it's great for the same purpose.
If you just want a game that you jump in and start shooting things, there are other games out there. If you really want to get serious with the Falcon series, you will need to learn to fly the plane, use the avionics, and learn the weapon delivery systems. The manual is over 700 pages and is only in .pdf format (big drawback) but you can print out just the pages that you need to learn what you need to learn.
I purchased the Saitek X52 HOTAS system and am still in the progress of programming all the controls. In this game you will for sure need to learn a lot of keyboard commands, or get a HOTAS (Hands On Throttle And Stick) system. There are those out there that have profiles built for the Saitek, but they are usually in the .dat format when you need one in the .pr0 format.
My recommendation on this game is that if you have lots of time to dedicate to learning the game then this is the one you want.
