School nurses are often the first to recognize that a child is having a problem. Children and their families turn to school nurses because of their knowledge of health care, the confidentiality and protection of their office, and their warm and caring manner. These characteristics place school nurses in the forefront in the lives of students and their parents, teachers and the community. School nurses have the abilities and skills to help children. This video and diskette (containing scripts and resources) is designed to set the stage for ongoing dialogue on how to deal with the impact of disaster.
