great 3 Tape Set!

If you are looking for a great introduction to "the best of Astaire" (in the opinion of many die hard fans), this is really the 3 Tape Set to get. I am not sure if they have transferred this trilogy to DVD, but they really should. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were really made for each other. Every time I see them dance together, they just light up the room with their dance moves. Astaire always succeeded in making his partners look feminine and beautiful, but Rogers was especially well-suited for him, and they had incredible chemistry together, on and off of the dance floor.

I won't go into tremendous detail about the movie plots, here, because I really don't want to ruin your experience. I will say that they feature some of the most well-known dance numbers, with some of the most well-recognized music, performed by Astaire and Rogers. What's more, all three of these films (TOP HAT, SHALL WE DANCE, and SWING TIME) are witty, wonderful and refreshing. They take you back to a time when women were really classy and men celebrated that (as did the rest of the world). Though, I wasn't alive at that time, it even makes ME wax nostalgic. Brilliant.
