In delivering PG-13-rated excitement,
Alien
vs.
Predator
is an acceptably average science-fiction action thriller with some noteworthy highlights, even if it squanders its opportunity to intelligently combine two popular and R-rated franchises. Rabid fans can justifiably ask "Is that all there is?" after a decade of development hell and eager anticipation, but we're compensated by reasonably logical connections to the Alien legacy and the still-kicking Predator franchise (which hinted at AVP rivalry at the end of Predator 2); some cleverly claustrophobic sets, tense atmosphere and impressive digital effects; and a climactic AVP smackdown that's not half bad. This disposable junk should've been better, but nobody who's seen Mortal Kombat or Resident Evil should be surprised by writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson's lack of imagination. As a brisk, 90-minute exercise in generic thrills, however, Anderson's work is occasionally impressive... right up to his shameless opening for yet another sequel. --Jeff Shannon

Finally, the circle closes
We now know the origin of this particular
ALIEN
species variant; brought by the
Predator
s as a transplant to Earth many eons prior to Columbus. Using a human as a host, a particularly survival orientated creature is produced that is stealthy, has molecular acid as blood (ALIEN pt.1),and aggressively combative and competitive: the most worthy opponent for Predator in, 'THE HUNT'. Only sometimes things don't work out as planned, and if Aliens are produced in numbers too overwhelming for the Predators to handle, they instigate their own 'final solution'. Evidently no remains of any kind of Alien are left behind, because in ALIEN, the comment is made that, "we've never encountered any species like that on LD-486, or any other planet [to Ripley]".
A vs P has a great story line and cast of characters, and the best movie of the series since , ALIENS. So grab two bags of microwave popcorn
your favorite drink, sit back and prepare for an excellent classic to be
horror flick.

I liked this movie.
There are a few bad things about it though, first, the
Predator
s are way to fat compared to the original, and the
alien
s have smaller heads. They made the Grid Alien too strong, it was able to kill 2 Predators, with out being hurt, except for losing it's tail. Also, since the Queen escaped out of the ice at the end, there would also probably be a few aliens with it. Scar Predator got stabbed by the Queen and the Predalien still survived!
Now for the good parts.
The Predators have new weapons, and the Shuriken Disc looks a lot better. They also have different masks, which is good. The Alien Queen looks better too. The movie has so many battle scenes, but my favorite is the Celtic vs. Grid fight. This movie keeps you watching it over and over again. The ending is great.
I like this movie, and anyone that knows about the two series should get it.

what is evry ones problem?
i have tryed to figure out why evry one hates this movioe so much. does it have
alien
s? yes. does it have
predator
s? yes. does it have aliens vering predators? yes.............then whats your problem? and all this rubbish about card board acting? have you seen the sequal? now THATS card board acting. this movie isnt exactly fast paced, but look at the alien and predator movies. in alien, you didnt see the actual alien till 40 minutes in! and in predator you didnt see it until the last hour or so. so, really its just following the formila of the movies its contecting. the plot makes sense, and involves both aliens and predators fighting to the daeth ( where as other versus films eg freddy vs jason, it felt like an elm street movie with jason in it a bit). so, if you are a fan of both the alien or predator movies, i suggest you check this one out, you either like it or you dont.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN
Well, after years of anticipation FOX finally decided to pit two of the greatest creatures in sci-fi history against each other for the first time on film.Fans of both
Alien
/
Predator
franchises will probably find themselves dissapointed with this film. However, while there is one decent fight between the two races,it is not enough to save the film from its sci-fi original feel and total lack of action and violence that fans were expecting. The plot of the film revolves around a team of scientists travelling to the arctic to investigate a heat signature found 2,000 feet beneath the ice, after locating a temple that serves as the Predator's proving ground, all goes south. While most say that this film is seriously flawed, and I agree, one must appreciate seeing these creatures together for the first time. With a few decent fight scenes mixed in between some pg-13 moments of horror,Alien vs. Predator, though it did not deliver for its fans,is not a bad buy for $10 and may be enjoyed by someone new to the franchise.
