these old toons are a joy to see on dvd!get em for the kids because these stories are wholesome and you KNOW you grew up with them!

classic cartoons

These cartoons are just as great as I remember. I got them for my kids because I was so fond of them as a child, and they love them too. The White Seal still stirs a sense of fear and sadness, but the lesson is well worth it. A Cricket in Time Square is absolutely charming and has lovely music.

Great classic!

Chuck Jones is a master and for everyone that grew up with his work, you'll love to have this in your collection. The older cartoons are the best. I've always loved this one and your kids will too.

A Return to Childhood

It's been a long time since I've viewed any of the Chuck Jones' cartoons. When I bought this product, I was looking more towards the Cricket in Times Square story since it was the one I remember from childhood. After I viewed both cartoons, I fell in love with Jones' animation style all over again. It's not often you can look to cartoonists nowadays and recognize their styles, but Jones had a talent for it. His storytelling is beautiful and age-appropriate, and the animation is gorgeous!

Delightful

This cartoon captures the mood of Kipling's story without making it too dark for children. The abstract underwater backgrounds spark children's imaginations, and the outcome is very satisfying. Makes a great partner to the Chuck Jones storybook, which uses pictures from the cartoon and tells more of the story.
