amazing....absoultly stunnning

I believe that this video is one of the most amazing music video I ever saw. Johnny Cash really puts his soul into this song. This song is one of the few that touches my heart. And it has touched many peoples hearts when they saw it. It is one amazing music video, and I recommend buying this, even though thats all there is. Just the video.

MAKES YOU THINK

In this DVD, Johnny Cash is more powerful in the frailty of age than he was in his youth. His voice is scratchier and less strong than in times past, but it only adds to the theme of his song. The images that flash past are the memories of a man with many regrets intermingled with the only thing that makes his life worthwhile in the big scheme of things - redemption.

Johnny Cash's Life through another mans song

I'm a huge fan of both Cash and Reznor! For those who do not know this song was originaly done by Nine Inch Nails. I was so shocked to hear Cash coverd it! when i hear any of reznor's sorrow filled songs, they have an old feel. as if it was spoken from a man who was 100 years old. hearing cash sing this song, you can tell he really made it his. because the hurt or sorrow is not sung through the words of another man's life. the song is sung through his own life. in that i think he brought something to the song that Nine Inch Nails couldnt have. this isnt your typical cover to judge or compare with the original. each is its own song. they may share the words. but they are sung from different worlds. The video will give you flashes of Cash's life at key words to emphasis meaning. you'll see people he's loved and achivements he's earned. to say its a great video, or that he did a great job with the song, would be an understatement.

Hurt = Old Friends

While I am not a huge Johnny Cash fan, I found this video to be amazing. I thought the crucifixion images were a bit much, but the rest of the video was beautiful. The feeling I was left with was so similar to the way I felt the first time I heard Simon and Garfunkle's "Old Friends" from Bookends.
