This beautiful carving board is practical for slicing meats yet beautiful enough to bring right to the table and serve from when entertaining a crowd. The board measures 20 by 14 inches, which is large enough to carve bigger hams or roast turkeys, and has a thickness of 3/4 of an inch, making it sturdy enough to carry heavy roasts to the table. A 1-inch-wide channel along the edge of the board catches any meat juices before they overflow onto a tabletop or cloth. The opposite side of the board is smooth and can be used as a secondary prep surface for chopping vegetables or kneading bread dough.

This environmentally-sustainable product is created from reclaimed North American hardwood that has been carefully selected for quality and purchased from mills throughout the country. The board is then hand-crafted by skilled woodworkers in Wisconsin--an area known for its rich woodworking tradition. Wood is hand-sanded and finished with a food-grade oil to protect it against cracking and warping. Great price, great product.

I bought this item as a gift. Although I can't comment on the durability capability, I was very surprised with the quality of the board. It is very nice looking, something you could keep out on your counter all the time and it looks sturdy and durable. Excellent size too! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for quality and affordability.

Worked for a while...

Worked for a while, then it split in two sepparate places, both places being glue joints between the slats. The larger of the two splits is large enough to allow juice drainage from the well under the board onto the counter. I might as well use my plastic veggie board that doesn't have a well, because this well is useless now and the wood doesn't stay in place as well on the corian countertop as the plastic board does.
