The original 1933 design of Alfonso Bialetti, the Moka Express, is one of the most universally recognized products in the world. With over a quarter-billion units sold, the Moka is by far the world's most popular coffee maker. A simple stovetop brewer the Moka is suitable for gas, electric or radiant heat sources...just fill the lower vessel with water, add fine ground coffee to the integral filter and heat until the upper vessel is filled with coffee.

O boy is this fun.

I love everything about this machine, even the waiting is okay. It makes a good strong espresso, with no muss, no fuss, no disassembling a complicated electic machine (which doesn't do crema, btw), just let it cool and rinse. Why did I wait so long? Fifty million Italians can't be wrong (but I paraphrase).

Best Moka on the market

The original creator of the Moka is still the authority. I grew up knowing moka pots as the only known way of brewing coffee, so I know very well how moka-brewed coffee should taste like -and this is the best. I used to think that the quality of vessel did not affect the end product, but I was wrong. If you start with good quality coffee and put it in a cheap moka you'll get a bad result. Now I can fully enjoy the (somewhat expensive) espresso blend that I like.

More like a 2 cup, but still great!

I have had no problems with this espresso maker, other than it only makes 2 cups...not 3. It looks nice, cleans well, and I have used it almost 10 times without any problems.

PROS: Makes great espresso.
CONS: 2 cups, not 3.
SUMMARY: For the price, it is ok. It is not an amazing device for a great price. I would only recommend spending a little more money to get a larger espresso maker (3-5 cups).

Very good coffee maker, needs attention though

Overall I like this coffee maker. My only criticism is that it can be difficult to tell when the coffee is done. When it's done though, the coffee is quite good.

Too small

This Bialetti Stovetop Percolator works well, but the 3-cup is more like one tiny cup. If you make coffee for more than yourself, get a bigger one. If it's for one person who doesn't drink much coffee, its perfect. The brand is great, and product makes great coffee. Just too small for my husband and I to only make one batch at a time.
