Comedy Central's jittery, apoplectic commentator on all things absurd in politics and culture is superb on this disc's collection of four half-hour cable specials and bonus features. Fans and newcomers get a chance to see how much the comic has grown since his delightful 1998 show, in which Black characteristically sputtered this bit of social-scientific criticism: "It's absolutely stupid that we've lost the ozone layer. We've got men, rockets, Saran Wrap--fix it!" Black attacks Bill Clinton for obscuring the meaning of infidelity ("If curling is an Olympic sport, oral sex is adultery!"), Y2K hype, flu shots, America's power elite, Ross Perot ("He's the kid in Deliverance all growed-up!"), and even delivers a "Taxes 101" college lecture ("What would help IRS forms? Verbs!"). Bonus features include Black's "Indecision 2000" inserts--caustic commentary about the last Republican and Democrat conventions--for Jon Stewart's show. Lewis Black is outrageous, and is one of the world's funniest comedians. You will laugh for hours.

Black is one of the funniest people on the planet, who happens to also make very good social commentary points during his routine. Guaranteed to make you laugh until it hurts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lewis Black - Unleashed, but censored

I am a big fan of Lewis Black and try to catch his specials regardless of time or channel. This is a collection of 3 specials that aired on Comedy Central, two 30 minutes specials and a one hour special. While this is some of Lewis's best know work, it only touches on the greatness of his comedy style. Being that these specials were recorded for basic cable programing, they are un-censored, but the tone of them is pulled back some. This belongs in the DVD collection of any Lewis Black fan, but don't expect the full force or Lewis.
