A handsome young aviator named Clay (Dean Cain) makes a forced landing on an isolated island that, over the past hundreds of years, has been invaded by so many different countries the inhabitants speak a mishmash of Spanish, English, and French. There he meets a young boy named Gabriel (Kristian De La Osa), who immediately attaches himself to Clay because his own father disappeared long ago. Unfortunately, this causes a conflict between Clay's beautiful mother, Mercedes (Talisa Soto), and her fiancé, Frank (Miguel Sandoval), a hardworking farmer who unhappily observes Mercedes's attraction to Clay. But even as Gabriel and his mother start to learn more about Clay than they expect, the boy forms a magical friendship with the airplane itself.

The Flight seems simple and predictable at first, but there are surprises in store; the script doesn't make the obvious choices, and the movie proves emotionally richer than one would expect. Soto in particular gives a subtle and touching performance as the conflicted young mother, and the cast as a whole is sincere and enjoyable. Young children will particularly enjoy it, but their parents may find themselves drawn in as well. --Bret Fetzer

FLY ME TO THE MOON

That's exactly what this great family film does. Winner of the prestigious Hollywood Film Festival award for "BEST FAMILY FILM," Flight of Fancy fulfills the dreams and imagination of the viewer like a jaunt through Alice's Wonderland. Heartfelt and warm, this film will have you wishing for more, and loving every minute of its splendid story.

In a word: OUTSTANDING!

Great Family Movie!

It was funny, romantic and entertaining. I love it and will watch it again! Great for the entire family, has no profanity or bad language which was a plus! Loved Dean Cain!!!

a little bit of central american magic

Picked it up on a Sunday afternoon to see it with my daughter. This is a children's movie and it should be classified as such. An adult can look at it without expecting too much, and if this is the state of mind, she/he can appreciate the poetical aspects of the plot and the wonderful landscapes, that I understand are in Puerto Rico.
A young boy, living among banana groves in what looks like paradise, does not want to accept his mother marrying a stern midlle age man because he still admires and loves a father he thinks has died. With his two very funny friends, a girl and a boy, he messes up the wedding in a breathtaking scene. Out of the blue an airplane falls with a misterious American pilot. The boy falls in love with the airplane and its aura of freedom and adventure, he helps the pilot get it back together again and learns many things in the mean time....
Garbriel Garcia Marquez lovers will find a little bit of magic in some characters such as a strage old hermit, and in a few surreal situations, which I believe add some zest and humor to the plot.
Children appreciate questioning reality and are stimulated by unexplainable situations.
Try the recipe the boy's mother proposes with bananas, shrimp and bacon!
Good movie for a Sunday afternoon with kids.
