Nicer than expected!

My husband is a big Christmas Story fan and we would joke about the leg lamp. I purchased this version of the lamp (20") and was surprised by how nice the lamp actually is!

It has a real lampshade with actual fringe, takes a regular sized light bulb, has stretchy fishnet stockings on the leg, and is well balanced. There are 3 settings for the lamp: lampshade only, leg only, and both lampshade and leg.

For a prop/gag gift, it is very nice. Now, if they only made on that was 40" in height...

Surprise for my Son-in-Law

With my daughter's trepidation, I ordered the Christmas Story Leg Lamp as a birthday gift for her husband. He was thrilled! Apparently this will be an annual Christmas decoration in their house.

My Hubby Will Love it!

My husband is an all-time favorite fan of the Christmas Story classic. In fact, if he didn't have to work on Christmas Day :( we would all have to endure watching it over and over for the 24hr marathon! I found this on Amazon and immediately knew I had to get it for him. No, it is not an exact replica, but pretty darn close! It comes in the cardboard box as shown, so my father-in-law made a wooden box for it and my mother-in-law painted "fragile" on it. Everyone in my family believes this is the perfect gift for my husband and I am sure they are right. My only regret is knowing that my hubby will lovingly place his new treasure next to the couch in our living room and it will remain there for the next thousand years!

Great gag gift for GROWN-UPS!

In reviewing this product Amazon had me rate it as a toy (educational value, etc.) which does not seem accurate. This is not a toy, but a fun joke lamp for fans of the Christmas Story movie. It is too breakable (and loaded with sexual innuendo) to be given to a child, in my opinion. And educational value... umm, I don't think so.

In any case, gave it to my father-in-law for Christmas and it was a huge hit (and immediately caused a fight between him and my mother-in-law about where it will be put on display - buyer beware!). This is smaller than the true replica, but much more affordable and perfect for that Christmas Story fan who has everything.
