THE MAKING OF series is a behind-the-scenes look at some of Hollywood's most enduring classics. Hosted by actor/comedian Sean MacLaughlin, this series takes the viewer onto closed sets and into the world of studio moviemaking through rare footage, interviews and newsreels. Each edition also features a few surprises, including biographies of the stars and looks at similar films in the genre. THE MAKING OF series is a must-see for any film fan who wants to know just how Hollywood creates the magic that is movies.

My view on the Ten Commandments.

This film is the best relaxation that excist,it is a bibel story based mostly on the truth and it is beautiful.

I have watch it for more that 100 times and everytime I watch it,it is the same feeling I get,a part of them,we all are a part of them, believe it or not.

Blessings for all that has made the film and made it become real and true.

Disappointing.

Although, reasonably priced, this dvd is not true to its billing. It really does not take you behind the scenes to obtain any technical information or insightful reflection pertaining to the production of the film, The Ten Commandments. Instead, this "Behind The Scenes" dvd is an extended advertisement. It contains DeMille's background introduction & old newsreel footage pertaining to The Ten Commandments (which is already contained on The Ten Commandments dvd), and footage and comments from the two main stars, Heston & Brenner, however, these stars are referring to their other works and not to the film, The Ten Commandments. Host Sean MacLaughlin provides introductory statements, but that does nothing but give the presentation a weak sense of cohesion. The dvd of The Ten Commandments is worth buying because it is simply the greatest Biblical epic that Hollywood has ever produced. Keep your eye out for the new Special Collector's Edition of the film to see what it offers, it should contain an audio commentary. However, with regards to this "Behind The Scenes" dvd, it's not worth having unless you are a completionist and enjoy anything and everything about the film or the works of the main stars and, in addition, you would like to have advertisement for the films: The Prodigal, Samson & Delilah, David & Bathsheba, Quo Vidas, The Robe, and Solomon & Sheba. Otherwise, you won't be satisfied.
