In an age when women are expected to be seen but not heard, Dr. Michaela "Mike" Quinn is a renegade, an independent spirit who forsakes her home in genteel Boston for the rough-and-tumble life of the frontier. But the prejudice she encountered back east pales in comparison to the challenges awaiting in Colorado Springs...

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman breathed new life into a tired genre and brought families together around the TV for six seasons with its refreshing take on the Western, blending a distinctly modern sensibility with painstaking historical authenticity and tales of courage, conviction and romance.

This collection features all 25 episodes from the third season of the five-time Emmy Award winner starring Jane Seymour and Joe Lando, available on DVD for the first time.

Dr. Quinn is GOOD WHOLESOME ENTERTAINMENT

I just love Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman! The second season is every bit as well done as the first. In this season there is an extra long, 2 hour episode which is just fabulous as it takes you back to Boston with Dr. Mike and her children. The set is fantastic and full of back in time perfection. I love how her and Sully are working things out as the love between them continues to grow.

This show is right up there with my other favourite show, Road to Avonlea.

My family really enjoyes this series!

We watched this series when it originally aired. We are so glad it is available on DVD. The picture quality is great and the sound is better on the DVD than when we would watch it on television. We are so pleased with our purchase, our goal is to get the whole series. This is quality entertainment and we love it!

Dr Quinn medicine woman second season

I always enjoyed the Dr.Quinn series. One of the best episodes is found in season two., where Mike and Sully end up in Boston and find they love each other. I am very pleased to beable to buy each season separately, from amazon.com

As original as the first series

The second series of Dr. Quinn are as original and sparkling as the first series. Dr. Quinn and Sully officially start courting which provides the watchers with hilarious and touching moments as both are strong and independent characters but eventually learn to depend on each other. Especially the episode called 'the Abduction' reveals how fond they are of each other. All the other characters (the same as in the first series) star as well. It is delightful to watch Mr. Bray and Brian together, and to see how other characters develop.

There is only one annoying thing about this series. In the second series, and this already was the case when the episodes premiered on television in 1994 and 1995, episodes are sometimes awkwardly ordered. When Dr. Quinn and Sully officially start courting after the journey to Boston an episode aired, in which a woman who has lived with Indians for several years falls in love with Sully. This reveals a dissapointed and jealous Michaela. Sully, however, tells her that nothing has happened between him and the woman (it was she that kissed him) and that he only loves her. Michaela tells him that he has really hurt her feelings but their love survives. So far so good, but then the very next episode is about Dr. Quinn and the Reverend who after taking care of orphan children seriously consider to marry. This is just impossible after the previous episode. Sully does not speak throughout the episode but he does see Michaela and the Reverend kiss. Where does this come from? This episode is essentially not bad at all and reveals how people in the 18th and 19th century treated orhpan children but it should have been included in the first series when Dr. Quinn and Sully still think they are too different to court.

Technically, the absence of subtitles is a minor drawback. I do not often miss a line but sometimes there's a lot of action going on and you must really strain your ears and eyes to hear and see what the characters are saying.
