Tomas Kalnoky, sole songwriter of CATCH 22?s cult classic "Keasbey Nights" formed STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO two years ago with original CATCH 22 members Josh Ansley and Jamie Egan. "Everything Goes Numb" is a natural progression of "Keasbey Nights" showcasing not only energetic horn parts and fabulous harmonizing vocals, but intelligent lyrics focusing on the angstridden lives of young adults.

The anticipation for new work from Tomas has snowballed over the last two years. Hungry fans will finally have the opportunity to hear the material that they have been waiting for. Kalnoky?s songwriting has had an incredibly significant impact on ska?s biggest sub genre, ska-punk. "Everything Goes Numb" will quickly become an underground classic and must have album for all fans of horn rock.

"Keasbey Nights" is also an important CD when examining the evolution of ska. Kalnoky?s songwriting was revolutionary in that he successfully combined the upbeat, reggae ska style with faster in-your-face punk.

Most underrated album ever

This album puts most recent ska to shame. The musicality and production values here are incredible. This is tight, clean, fast, tuneful, intelligent music. This is not ska just for the stereotypical surfer, punk, sk8ter, etc crowds, this is ska for all people who appreciate fast-paced musicality. In my opinion, this album is far superior to the simpler Keasbey Nights. Here's hoping that SM's new album picks up where they left off in 2003.

Will restore your faith in humanity

This album is a remarkable breath of fresh air in the current stagnant music industry. Much of what it on the radio and sold by major labels it so overly processed and reused that it has no more apeal to me than a can of spam. By comparrison, Everything Goes Numb is like a fine seak. The members of Streetlight manifesto are all so increadibly talented and experienced with their instruments that the music is complex and replayable to a ridiculous degree. As a bass guirarist, their bassist's work amazed me with it's complexity. Frontman Thomas Kalnoky's songwriting and vocals are amazingly catchy and meaningfull. If I am ever feeling depressed, the song A Better Place, A Better Time never fails to help. You owe it to yourself to listen to this amazing band. I cannot wait to hear their next album.

Brilliant

One of the best ska-punk/third wave ska albums of all time! Without a doubt, get this album, leave it in your player indefinitely, and enjoy it again and again ... that's what I did and I bought it over 2 years ago (and it is still in my car)!

so much better than anything in the mainstream

I know it's a little cliche, but it's no exaggeration to say that this music changed my life. I've been listening to these songs for years, and they're still just as amazing. They do exactly what music is supposed to: lift you up, make you want to dance/rock out/sit back and admire how damn good they are, let you have a good cry when you need it, and basically encompass what life's about. Check out Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution as well; it has some of the same members (including the songwriter) and recorded the original version of "Here's to Life". BOTAR may only have five songs out, but it, along with Streetlight, is one of my all-time favorite bands.

Most musically talented ska band ever formed

This cd totally blew me away. It has slamming fast horn lines and manages to mix things up in all thier songs. I'm in band so I noticed things like split parts and insturments switching parts. They used creciandos and so many other cool things. Saddest song, Heres to Life, Everything went numb and A Better Place a Better Time are the highlights of the album. You are probally wondering at this point why I gave it three stars instead of five. Lots of people don't get it but musisicians don't need to curse. It doesnt add to the musical quality or over all effectiveness of the album. How many people but an album because it curses? In fact there are more people offended by it then impressed by it. I ended up deleting half the album from my computer. But other than that it blew me away. Incredible band.
