The latest installment of the highly acclaimed Jedi Knight series. Take on the role of a new student eager to learn the ways of the Force from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.

This game rocks!

I first started playing this game when I was little. And a few months ago, I said, "I can't remember anything about Jedi Academy, so I think I'll play it." To make a long story short, this game is awesome. But I think you would probably rather hear my entire opinion about this game, so here we go.

This game had an enjoyable (if not unpredictable) storyline with fairly realistic characters. The levels were cool, and the creators of the game did an excellent job in making the planets and objectives different each time. The boss levels were really cool as well, and I thought that they did an especially good job with Vjun. I thought it was neat how the character creation was made. You can choose a main outfit color, a hairstyle, and the torso and legs of your character's outfit.

However, I'm not crazy about the fact that you can't choose your own name. I understand that this is for good dialogue in the cinematic parts, but I like making up crazy new names. The battles are a bit repetitive, with the mercenaries and stormtroopers the easiest. Although I have to admit that it was a nice change when they introduced the big stormtroopers. I found that there were two extremely difficult levels (the one with the sandworms and the one with the mutated rancor), but other than that, the levels were fairly easy. I especially enjoyed the level with the swoop bikes.

In short, I loved this game! I love to replay it over and over again. Plus, I found that it was cool that it works on Windows Vista. You see, my dad switched my computer over to Vista when I had just finished the game for the first time. I highly recommend this game. I also think it was good that there was no blood in the fight scenes.

Great Game! You actually need skill to play, not like the Battlefront games. Mr. Lucas why have you abandoned the game genre that started it all?
Please continue the story, especially for us who are still using a PC.

Star Wars Full on FUN!

Jedi Academy---
don't get caught up too much on the plot, storyline, or roleplaying depth of this title. the game is pure, full on FUN. it's like the designers of this game saw star wars when they were 8 years old and then came along here and put every single thrill-ride of the 3 (original) movies in this game.
you got lightsabers -- of course. you got force powers -- of course. you get to ride a tauntaun charging down snowtroopers with your lightsaber, you get to go on a wild speederbike level (i played rocket jockey, those saps didn't have a CHANCE!), you get to hop in an AT-ST and rampage around. the controls aren't so complicated that you keep crashing into walls and have trouble surviving due to that.

i have a save game for the prison mission. it is TOO fun. you get captured and tossed in jail, and lose your lightsabre. the sadistic boss hogg warden is bored -- he wants to let you lose, and you're supposed to run to your ship to escape.
i say, 'oh you THINK that's how it's gonna go, do you?' forget lightsabre, i have force lightning level 3! i walk out of there with bare hands, two guards see me, and BOOM! i nail them good! bodies are flying, men are screaming, things are blowing up.... too fun!

Keeps the kids busy for a long time

My sons, 11 & 14 adore this game! They continue to beat it and go back in with different scenarios. Very compelling ( I chose not to say addictive in the same sentence as kids)

Great game

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is the third game in the Jedi Knight series. I haven't played the first two, but I probably will after playing this game. The models in this game are very well detailed, and the graphics aren't too bad. The gameplay overall is very fun. The only downside to this game is that it is relatively short... maybe around 5 hours. However, I would recommend picking up this game.
