One of the world's most famous arenas hosts a night of action from both Raw and SmackDown. There are 5 titles on the line, but it's simply survival that is at stake. This 180-minute DVD from World Wrestling Entertainment features the first-ever Elimation Chamber World Heavyweight Championship match, as well as Scott Steiner debuts, and special musical performances by Saliva.

Almost perfect

This PPV was one of the best I have ever seen. And I really mean that. A great main event with a more-than-solid undercard.

1. Six-man Elimination Table Match
Rico and Three Minute Warning vs. Spike and Bubba-Ray Dudley and Jeff Hardy

INCREDIBLE opener! On a personal note, I've always thought that elimination table matches are head and shoulders better than regular table matches, which are usually a snooze-fest. Also, it's awesome to see Jeff and Bubba working together in a table match. It's also kinda funny because two years previously at the 2000 Royal Rumble in MSG, they were in the very first table match against each other.

Pros: 1. D-Von and Bubba reuniting. 2. The splash onto Jeff is AWESOME! 3. "Jeff! Get the tables!"
Cons: 1. Slightly predictable Swanton from the entrance (The EXACT same thing happened at the Rumble table match.) 2. Rico needed a little more work.
Overall: 8/10 (Very Good)

Saliva plays Always from the World. Wicked cool because I'm a Saliva fan. :)

2. WWE Cruiserweight Title Match
Jamie Noble w/Nidia (Champ) vs. Billy Kidman

A very good fast-paced match. Both men give solid performances and are definitely worth watching. However, t does seem a little predictable with Nidia's unlimited interferences.

Pros: 1. Noble gives a Kidman a SICK DDT from the top turnbuckle (I'm not kidding, it almost hurt my stomach to look at it.) 2. High-flying, non-stop action.
Cons: 1. Predictable interferences. 2. Stale commentary (It really does contribute a lot to the match whether you realize it or not).
Overall: 6/10 (Good)

3. WWE Womens Championship Harcore Rules
Trish Stratus (Champ) vs. Victoria

Actually, a very good match. Ordinarily, I CAN'T STAND women's title matches, but this one was actually watchable and even brutal at parts. Not a bad match for women or for harcore (which is saying something because I LOVE hardcore matches).

Pros: 1. Trish gives Victoria a wicked trashcan lid shot that busts her nose open. 2. Victoria takes one hell of a pounding and still wins.
Cons: 1. It's kinda boring in places. 2. A LOT of moves are botched.
Overall: 5/10 (Good)

4. WWE Championship Match
Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman vs. The Big Show

Ugh... I hate Lesnar as a wrestler. As a fighter in Japan, he's good. As a wrestler, he's just bland, boring and unable to take direction when in the ring with someone more experienced. I like the Big Show, but I think he works best when he's in the ring with some weapons. This match was short, boring and predictable. However, I can't call it a let-down, because I thought it was going to suck going into it.

Pros: 1. Seeing Lesnar lose the title. :) 2. Seeing Heyman punch out the ref and lose his balance and his hat doing it.
Cons: 1. They centered the whole match on the "you can't beat the Big Show" angle, so it was obvious that he would get SO CLOSE...... and get betrayed by the person who told him that: Heyman. 2. The Big Show tries his hardest to carry Lesnar, but with the five minutes this match took, there was no way anyone was going to do well.
Overall: 2/10 (And that's being generous)

Three-team elimination match for the WWE Tag Team Titles
Edge and Mysterio (Champs) vs. Benoit and Angle vs. Chavo and Eddie Guerrero

This match is incredible! All three teams put on an incredible show. I would rank this match up there almost as highly as the main event. That's why it was scheduled AFTER the Lesnar/Big Show disaster (That just goes to show that even the WWE knew that match would suck). All teams work well together and compliment each other very well.

Pros: 1. I LOVED the Angle/Benoit pairing. It was hilarious outside of the ring and incredible to watch inside it. 2. Edge and Mysterio pull out some awesome moves from the top including an Edge-a-cution from the top turnbuckle that's just WICKED! 3. Eddie and Chavo pull out all their lying and cheating expertise to win this one. Kudos on an incredible match!
Cons: 1. I had to really think hard, but I found ONE thing wrong with this match: Angle and Edge didn't get a lot of time to go after each other (And there's really not anything incredibly wrong with that, but it's all I could come up with).
Overall: 9.5/10

Scott Steiner debuts by "beating up" Matt Hardy and Christopher Nowinsky for about a second. I found this irrelevant, stupid and rehearsed. But, maybe that's because I don't really like Steiner...

Six-Man Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Title.
HHH (Champ) vs. RVD vs. Chris Jericho vs. Booker T vs. Kane vs. Shawn Micheals

One word: Awesome. This match doesn't drag, showcases talents of each competitor and gives a satisfying ending.
Rather than list the pros and cons, I'll just give a play-by-play.
The match begins with RVD vs. HHH, which I think is a good combination and should have been exploited more often and proceeds with HHH getting busted open in the earlyl going.
Next, Jericho enters and the double-team begins. I enjoyed watching Jericho and HHH team up, if only for five minutes.
Enter Booker T. He evens the odds for RVD for a moment and then they square off as Jericho and HHH lick their wounds. Then RVD hits a Five-Star Frog Splash on HHH from the top of a chamber only to hurt himself enough for Booker to eliminate him.
Then, in came the Big Red Machine. He pretty much decimates and eliminates Booker.
Shawn Micheals enters and a big four-way brawl ensues.
Kane then takes every finishing maneuver and is eliminated.
Again, Jericho and HHH team up, this time against HBK.
Intersting point occurs when Jericho has HBK eliminated and then HHH breaks up the three, claiming he wants to be the one to eliminate Micheals, then they go after each other until Jericho is gone.
HHH and Micheals slug it out. Now, I'll come right out and say it: I didn't think that Micheals was going to win this thing. This is one of the few times when I was dead-wrong. Micheals pulls the Sweet-Chin Music out of nowhere and that does it. New champ and miraculous comeback all at once!
Overall: 10/10 (Awesome match)

PPV Summary: 9/10 (Could have been ten without that damnable Lesnar match)

"You will bear witness to the Elimination Chamber"!

This is a great Survivor Series PPV.

Bubba Ray and Spike Dudley vs. Three Minute Warning and Rico
Great match from start to end. The tables were used to great effect here, and I love it. Non-stop action. Also, great ending with the uniting of D-Von. 10/10
Cruiserweight Championship Match
Jamie Noble vs. Billy Kidman
Great action-packed match between these two. 10/10
Hardcore Match
Trish Stratus vs. Victoria
What a great match! I love how the weapons were used here, and seeing these women go at it in a match like this is just awesome. 10/10
WWE Championship Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show
This is one great match from those two. That's all I have to say. 10/10
Triple Threat Elimination Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit vs. Edge and Rey Misterio vs. Eddie and Chavo Guerrero
Great tag team action from these three teams. Great back and fourth action during the whole match. 10/10
Elimination Chamber Matchfor the world heavyweight Championship
Triple H vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T vs. Kane vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
Holy Smokes! This was a great maine event to close the show. This match was full of non-stop action all the way, and to see that structure is truly an awesome sight. Seeing them go at it using this structure is what makes it a great match, which turns into a blood bath, and I love blood baths. They keep me warm. 10/10

This is a five star PPV worth watching, and comes highly recommended if you are a true Wrestling fan.

Smackdown had better talent but Raw stole the show

Survivor Series 2002 was the introduction to a great concept- the Elimination Chamber match. Its the only real reason to see this PPV because nothing else really stands out.

Jeff Hardy, Bubba Ray Dudley and Spike Dudley Vs. Three Minute Warning & Rico - Good match with the return of Devon. Oh my brother, testify!

Jamie Noble Vs. Billy Kidman- Good match

Brock Lesner Vs. The Big Show- Decent match between the two, there would be better matches between the two in the following months.

Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit Vs. Edge and Rey Mystrio Vs. Eddie and Chavo Guerreo- Smackdown had such a talented roster back in 2002 as i've said many times before. I never got Smackdown because the cable company didnt have the channel. Very good match.

Elimination Chamber Match Triple H VS Booker T VS Kane VS RVD VS HBK VS Jericho: Excellent main event and I cant believe HBK actully won the world title. Then again, Triple H was in career wrecking mode and won it back within a month. Still this match is pretty friggin awesome.

Good Survivor Series with Smackdown showing they had alot of talent but couldnt figure out what to do with it.

Survivor Series's Best Overall Card

Survivor Series was one of the best events since the brand split that happened in 2002. This show feature something for everyone and left you feeling that you just witnessed a great piece of WWE history.

Tables Match: Bubba Ray Dudley, Spike Dudley & Jeff Hardy vs 3 Minute Warning & Rico. This was a great way to begin the show as you had the usual mayhem that you would come to expect in multi tag team matches. There are also some nice table spots along the way that eventually ends with return of D-Von Dudley.

Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble vs Billy Kidman. This match did not come close to topping the opener but it was still an average cruiserweight match with a solid pace to go with it, just like their previous encounters.

Hardcore Match: Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs Victoria. The storyline for this match was done very well and in the process delivered one of the better women matches that I have seen in professional wrestling. This was not a weapon-fest but there was some great psychology added to the match.

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs The Big Show. Lesnar had a legit rip injury at the time so this one was not going to be long. In four minutes, Lesnar had suplexed Show all over the ring and even F-5ed the Big Show. I found the ending to be predictable, if you watched the events leading to this match.

Triple Threat Elimination Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Edge & Rey Mysterio vs Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle vs Eddie & Chavo Guerrero. This was an awesome match and the match of the night for me as you saw all six men put on a wrestling clinic that we had not seen in quite some time. If it had not been for the tag team title match at No Mercy, I would go far to name this match of the year.

Elimination Chamber Match: World Heavyweight Champion Triple H vs Rob Van Dam vs Booker T vs Chris Jericho vs Kane vs Shawn Michaels. First of all, what the hell was those trunks that HBK was wearing? Anyways, I am done with that. About the match, it was a great way to end the show as it told a story of all men doing what they had to do to survive this structure. Love him or hate him, Triple H put on a great performance that would lead to Shawn Michaels' emotional World Title victory.

This was an event that was worth the money and if anyone can find this event, I recommend get it quickly.

WWE Survivor Series 2002 is A 4 Star

80-76%-perfect
75-71%-awsome
70-66%-good
65-61%-poor
60-56%-awful

1. Jeff Hardy, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Spike Dudley vs. 3 Minute Warning and Rico in a tables match- I really like this a the choice to kick off the show. This was noon stop action all the way through starting with Jeff Hardy doing a suicide dive to the outside. I liked the idea that you had to put all of your opponents through tables. The match was given enough time to develop and tons of close calls of people going through tables. Devon came in at the end as a surprise and helped bubba Dudley win the match for his team which was cool. Good match. Winners Jeff Hardy, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Spike Dudley. Match Rating 8/10.
2. Jamie Noble vs. Billy Kidman for the wwe cruiserweight title- This was another solid match to back the other one up. Almost seemed like the same as the first as there was a lot of high flying action and powered moves in this match. These two worked well together and it was good to see the young guys put on a good match. Winner and new wwe cruiserweight champ Billy Kidman. Match Rating 7.5/10.
3. Trish Stratus vs. Victoria for the wwe women's title in a hardcore match- I really liked this choice by the wwe to go with a hardcore match for the women's title. These two had a great rivalry going into it and if any two women can put on a good hardcore match its these two. There were a lot of weapons used as a trash can a trashcan lid a kendo stick and a lot more. Great action and quite a few near falls. One of the better women's matches put on. Winner and new wwe women's champ Victoria. Match Rating 7/10.
4. Brock Lesner vs. The Big Show for the wwe title- Well I was really disappointed in this match. From what I understand Lesner was hurt going into the match so that was why it was so short so I am willing to give it a little bit of a break. I was disappointed because this match was built up so well but it ended up being 4 minutes long. A really good surprise at the end and a sick F-5 on the big show was amazing how lesner even picked him up. Winner and new wwe champ The Big Show. Match Rating 3/10.
5. Edge and Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle and Chris Beniot vs. Los Guerreros for the wwe tag team titles in a triple threat elimination match- This is one of my favorite tag team matches of all time. I loved all the different wrestlers in this match as we had speed with mysterio and the guerreros and the technical wrestling of beniot and angle. This was given a lot of time and there were moments in the match that just kept you on your feet with near falls all over the place. Great match by all six men. Winners and new wwe tag team champs Los Guerreros. Match Rating 9/10.
6. HHH vs. Booker T vs. Kane vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels vs. RVD in a elimination chamber match for the WHT- This was a great match and in my opinion the best elimination chamber match of all time. They always say that you can't get better than the first match and this is true here. There were so many sweet moves including a 5 star frog splash from the top of one of the chamber cells. A lot of great wrestling and just a blood bath. There was a couple sick moments when people were thrown through the pleix glass. The best part of the match was the final 7 minutes with Michaels and HHH just a great battle with tons of near falls. You will ove this match. Winner and new WHC Shawn Michaels. Match Rating 10/10.

Well that raps up another. I would give WWE Survivor Series 2002 a grade of 44.5/60 which is a 74% which means this is an awesome ppv. I would even go and call this a perfect ppv cause if lesner was not hurt the match would have been better. Also there is a nice segment with the debut of scott stiner. So you should pick this dvd up it is very good I got it for 15 dollars which is a bargain today. If you can tell me if my review was helpful or not I would appreciate that. Thanks for your time.
