I am very satisfied so far

I've had my unit for a year now. Yes, it does work. All you need to do is look at the blades and see that it collects alot of dark black particles out of the air that you would be breathing into your body. I also have a Bionaire filter cleaner that does not work nearly as well and is alot noisier. The only negative to the Ionic Breeze is the ESD it gives off that affects any electronic products nearby. Keep it away from stereos, tv's, computers etc. I think I damaged by DSL modem by placing the IB next to it.

MUST use with ozone guard

Mine picks up a lot of dust. I have to clean it every few days. The blades turns completely black. You must buy it with the ozone guard, otherwise it will be unhealthy. One great thing the unit does is get rid of bad smell. Once I forgot to open the fireplace vent when i lit the fire and smoke filled the house. I used it suck up all the dust and the smell. I was able to get back in my place to sleep that night without breathing problem. Of course i also needed to vacuum and clean all the surfaces. I think this unit is only helpful. The most important thing is to vacuum your carpet and to clean your house often.

Works great and does the job and I didn't pay a lot for one

I have a unit and it's made moves, been shipped and it's still ticking. It works great. I'm not sure what the concern with ozone is but my sister is asthmatic and i was born with breathing problems only benefited from the unit. Never had a problem with too much ozone and if you don't like the smell of fresh air then you can get the Ozone Guard for it which converts the ozone to breathable oxygen instantly. They are not expensive about 20 bucks for the ozone guard.

Of course, I got mine at a discount and quite happy with it. It takes cigarette smoke, dust particles and other stuff out of the air and it's been cleaner air inside since. I bought another unit this weekend, used, because I liked the first one so much. It sounds like a lot of people's units have died, but mine has worked for 5 years no problems and this used one i got had been running well for a while too and still does. I guess there was some inconsistent quality in these things.

HEPA filters are fine if you really really need that clean air inside and don't mind the cost of replacing filters (30 bucks each) and the fan noise. If you find an ionic breeze at a low prices, I think the ionic breeze machines are fine for the level of air cleaning they do. For instance, if you're already used to a HEPA filter system I wouldn't bother, but if not, it does the job.

Electric motors create ozone and heat no one complains when they smell it, you barely even notice the ozone this unit gives off.
