Best Magazine out there for this type of music
If you are a fan of true modern day Heavy Metal then
TERRORIZER
is the magazine for you. In this day and age of finding all the info you need about music through online resources, it's refreshing to see that a magazine keeps their chin up regardless of current idiotic trends. I hunt high and low for this magazine and usually end up paying ridiculous prices for them, but they are all worth it for their great reviews (although sometimes you get the feel that they are particularly favourable to British acts), live reviews and interesting interviews with acts that are not very well known in the U.S. Terrorizer is one of the very first magazines that put Slipknot on their front cover and now every teeny bopper magazine does it. They have great sampler CDs that are attatched to their front cover but unfortunately, you can only get those issues in the U.K. If you mailorder it from the U.K. you get those samplers. Amazon's subscription info fails to mention if these issues come straight from the U.K. Terrorizer is the only magazine that I actually spend money on. Now I usually find all the info I need through the internet. Really, who isn't nowadays?

Eat your heart out Metal Edge!
I have to admit I just discovered "
Terrorizer
" today when I saw that they had my favorite heavy metal band Nightwish on the cover. I immediately bought the issue. Normally I am more of a goth/industrial fan but I dug what I read in "Terrorizer". The metal bands that this British import magazine covered were not your atypical whiney, mopey, moronic metal band (i.e Limp Bizkit, Korn, and their ilk). Nope, "Terrorizer" covers a gamut of bands like from Anthrax to Obituary. They even had the legendary industrial band Psychic TV in the issue I picked up. I found "Terrorizer" much more interesting than any US metal magazine. Despite the fact that I really don't listen to metal for the most part (other than Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, and Lullacry), the articles were certainly interesting and I devoured each article like I do with my favorite magazine "Outburn". The only drawback to "Terrorizer" is that it is not cheap but the quality proves that it is worth the price.
