Premium glossy magazine for the design-conscious homeowner. Smart and stylish, it covers homes that successfully bridge the gap between fashion and interiors. Includes original and sophisticated ideas, intelligent advice, and new finds.

cool mag, great pasta recipes

contemporary, stylish, and most importantly, cool without being cold.

and i loved the pasta recipes taken from marlena spieler's book on pasta in this months living magazine!

A decor magazine for 'real' lives.

This is a fantastic magazine. What I really enjoy about it is how often the featured homes are ones with small kids. They show it is possible to have great design that works well with young ones too. It's comfortable, livable modern. Now, if only we could find a way to import the products shown here to the U.S.!

Love it, love it, love it!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this magazine. I discovered it in Barnes & Noble about two years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. I agree with the others - there's nothing like it here in the States. Beautiful pics of real-life homes with the homeowners front and center enjoying their spaces.

The thing I like about Living Etc is that it feels so real and accessible. Like for instance, in a recent issue, the homeowners spoke about the challenges they faced during their renos, the money they spent (or how much they WANTED to) and described what they'd do differently. I buy every issue off of the stands, but I'm probably going to lay out the cash for a subscription since it's so darned costly otherwise. My most expensive subscription, and will be worth every penny. If you haven't checked it out, just check out one issue.

The best out there

Agree with the other reviewer, nothing like this in the states. No country kitch, no traditional, just straight modern, clean, pretty rooms/homes. It's expensive, that's the part that stinks. I buy it at $7.50 an issue, but it's worth it. B/c it's modern, there is a lot of minimalism, which you very rarely see in U.S. magazines. I keep every copy of this. They are always good for reference, i read them each dozens of times over.

cool mag.

I enjoy the fact that for a "modernist" magazine it's not at all übber sleek, austere, glossy and unapproachable; it's quite the opposite. The editors do a geat job in telling the reader how to achieve the same effect for less $$ plus they also include where and how much products cost. The only drawback is that everything is in pounds sterling and most of the stores they point to are in the UK. Still, it's a geat resource and with some digging in the net, one can usually find a supplier in the USA or Canada.
The magazine is very different, almost polar opposite in style to Surface or Wallpapaer* or Dwell and yet it deals with modernism like those others.
