In 1964, the Beatles had just recently exploded onto the American scene with their debut on "The Ed Sullivan Show." The group's first feature, the Academy Award-nominated "A
Hard
Day
's
Night
," offered fans their first peek into a day in the life of the Beatles and served to establish the Fab Four on the silver screen, as well as to inspire the music video format. Songs: I'll Cry Instead, A Hard Day's Night, I Should've Known Better, Can't Buy Me Love, If I Fell, And I Love Her, I'm Happy Just to Dance with You, Ringo's Theme (This Boy), Tell Me Why, Don't Bother Me, I Wanna Be Your Man, All My Lovin', She Loves You.

"A Hard Day's Night" Miramax Collector's Edtion, two DVD set
When a "
Hard
Day
's
Night
" came out I was 14 years old. The memories of the songs and the cutting edge black and white cinematography that I experienced as a kid were confirmed, refreshed and renewed as I viewed the movie again! If that wasn't enough this collector's edition comes with a second DVD that includes interviews with the director, Richard Lester, George Martin and others that shed a whole new light on the times, the low budget of the film, the creative genius of each of the Beatles and information that inspires and amazes you further on the fun and power of this film! There was also a large segment of one of the DVD's devoted to the making of "A Hard Day's Night" that added, again, a whole new appreciation of the film!
In these tough economic times in a world filled with too much sex, violence and "life on the crude side" "A Hard Day's Night" and the accompanying DVD, is a breath of fresh air that can not be missed! There is something very special about the opening chord of "A Hard Day's Night" as three of the Beatles run headlong into the camera smiling and tripping as they are being chased by young girls and boys that can take anyone to the brightest moments in your childhood. Relive the music, the creative genius and fun of the early Beatles through this film, the interviews, insights and information contained in this Miramax Collector's Edition of "A Hard Day's Night" - it really is a blast!

Great film!
When this film was released in 1964, everyone thought that it would flop, but the movie critics loved it and compared The Bealtes to the Marx brothers. And of course all of the songs are great.
A cute, funny, slapstick joy!
I enjoyed this Beatles flick very much. If you're an avid Beatles fan and want to see and hear them all talk and have fun, I highly recommend this!
Funny for a fan or hater; special features weren't great though.
Let me start by addressing the problem of the video transfers, screen resolution and all the other technobabble Amazon reviewers sometimes use: Ignore it. If you're a normal person who enjoys watching movies you'll probably not notice any of their complaints. Aside from a few people who will complain that the lip syncing is off, which is totally true, they aren't very noticeable to a regular person who isn't trying to build themselves the 'perfect' home movie system or anything along those lines.
That being said, if you haven't seen the movie, I seriously reccommend it. It's incredible in it's own strange way. It doesn't have a plot, nor does it have an antagonist, and it barely even focuses on the music, really. The best way I could describe it is the camera's following the Beatles for a couple of
day
s- it meanders off, doesn't have a plot at all, etc. etc., but that's it's charm. You can pick up from anywhere and by the end of the scene you'll be hooked on the movie.
The reason that even a Beatles hater could like it is, well, because of those very points. It's cheeky and fun, and it's not serious at all.
The only problem I have is with the special features. It has almost no involvement from the Beatles, instead having cast interviews and things like that, with not much of a word from any of the Beatles. Not even Paul or Ringo, who you'd expect it to have atleast a little involvement with.
All in all, if you haven't seen it, buy it. It's great.
