The Ozarks Mountaineer magazine
The
Ozarks
Mountaineer
magazine offers a very unique opportunity to view a region of the United States known as the Ozarks, which covers an area from the Missouri River to the Akansas River, and a portion of the states of Kansas and Oklahoma on the Missouri and Arkansas borders. Rich in history and culture, the magazine traces in its content, the people and events that have blessed its beautiful landscape. The wide variety of educational and entertaining topics covered in the magazine, make it a perfect choice for the entire family and well worth the modest subscription rate. For anyone interested in staying well informed with the Ozarks past and present, or planning a visit, such needed information is richly cast throughout its generous pages. From a standpoint of comparison, the Ozarks Mountaineer magazine is as special as the area it has embraced, in its more than 50 years of publication.

For Ozarkers & Ozarker Wannabees!
This is a great magazine for folks who live in the
Ozarks
, those who used to live there and want to keep up with the area, and for those who plan to move to the Ozarks or vacation there. "The Ozarks
Mountaineer
" says its mission is "to preserve and record the history, culture and folklore of the entire Ozarks plateau area, with reverence for the past and hope for the future."
It does that--lots of interesting historical articles, features about artists and crafts people, places to visit and see. I like the "Calendar of Events" which provides dates of festivals, shows, and events. The "Ozarks Information on the Internet" is good also for great websites about the area. Columnists, recipes, reviews of books about the Ozarks are also standard. The magazine covers all the Ozarks, not just the Branson tourist scene.
If you're an Ozarker or an Ozarker at heart, it should be in your home! The cover photographs are worth subscription price!
