New features have been added to version 3.1 to allow for better control of configuration and administration tasks. SuSE Linux eMail Server 3.1 allows users to manage appointments both in Microsoft Outlook and the integrated Web client in SuSE Linux eMail Server. If deploying SuSE Linux eMail Server via a Web browser, users are automatically informed of new messages in pop-up windows that can be enabled or disabled individually.
Address data has been included to the increased amount of user data an administrator can process. Through Access Control Information, administrators can globally or individually determine which data users are permitted to modify. Also, with the help of the Web-based front end, administrators can monitor which clients are currently connected to the system and which workstations they use, useful for checking the per-session system load.
