From the supplier: A research study was conducted to evaluate the factorial validity of the Sports Inventory for Pain (SIP) instrument which was intended to measure the different abilities of athletes to perform while in pain. Almost 200 students had completely provided information necessary for the inventory. Statistical analysis of data and confirmatory factor analysis were utilized to assess the factorial validity of the SIP. Results revealed that refocusing of the SIP is needed to make the instrument valid in assessing the athletes' ability to endure pain.
