Stair gate is great.

After doing some research and reading the reviews on several products, I decided on this one. This was just what we needed. It is a very solid, easy to use gate. We didn't find the problems that some of the reviewers had found when installing it. Our only problem is that our banister needed to be reinforced, and that was our house's problem. But we love the motion light, as the gate is near our front door, and we don't need to leave a light on when we leave; this one goes on automatically! Thus it is saving us energy as well. And it keeps our dog in the basement so that's an added plus. Good product to get.

I bought 3 of these

When our little guy started crawling. I looked at a bunch of gates. Unfortunately I have a double stairway with 6 banisters. I thought of using a pressure gate but was afraid that the pressure gates would loosen the banisters over time. I also did not want to screw into my banisters. So I purchased one lighted gate and 2 adapters. The light gates works great. very easy to use. I read that the handle breaks fairly easy, but I have not had that happen. Very easy to open with one hand while caring the baby in the other. I did have to buy new screws from the home depot because the ones that came with the gate where too long for the adapter and would have scratched the banister. My upstairs opening is also slightly off center, but the gate works fine. After 2 months of use, we purchased 2 more gates for the 2 downstairs opening and 4 more adapters. they work great.

Baby Gate

A great product, has worked well. Like that there is no bar on the bottom to trip over. Have not needed the light feature, but you can shut it off. Can see that the hinge could be the weak link in this product if it is extended too far, but we have not had any problems (and we have high traffic stairs!).
