Easy can be Better!
I am an owner of a "real"
espresso
maker in fine working condition, the Rancilio Silvia. I packed it up in its original box and no longer have any use for it. OK, the received wisdom is that
single
-
serve
pod or capsule espresso makers like
Nespresso
, can make consistent shots, day after day, week after week, but that they never excel--they can never make that perfect cup of espresso. I can tell you now, with certainty, that only the first part of that statement is true. The very first cup of espresso that I made on my Nespresso
C100
was far better than any coffee that I ever made during the five years I have used my Silvia. And, as many reviewers have pointed out, it is incredibly easy to clean. To be fair, I admit that I was warned to buy the Silvia's grinder companion ($300 plus) which I never did. At first I used my Starbucks Italian burr grinder. No setting on it would satisfy Miss Silvia. Then I tried various brands of premium ground coffee, Illy, etc. Still, no luck. Then, two months ago, I had some business to do in a neighborhood bank. The young lady who was helping us asked if we would like espressos. "Yes," I quickly responded. With a smile she got up, walked over to a table on which there were cookies and a Nespresso espresso
machine
. She reached into a bowl of sealed aluminum foil capsules, popped one into the machine, pressed a button--voila! A cup of espresso equaling (at least) the cup of espresso that has lived in my memory as the ideal, the coda to a memorable meal we had at the Italian restaurant in the Culinary Institute in upstate NY. That coffee was Illy and it was as good as coffee can be. The thought that I could enjoy coffee of that quality in my own home, at a whim in less than five minutes, blew my mind. And it was so easy! I ordered a C-100 as soon as I got home and have never been sorry. The
Aero
ccino
milk
frother
is an ingenious device. It is a positive that the frother is separate from the brewer. Miss Silvia, like most machines under $1000.00 has only one boiler, necessitating waiting for the brewer to cool down if you make the froth first, or waiting for the steam to heat up if you start with the coffee. Neither is satisfactory.
Aeroccino
's froth made with the Cappuccino wisk is almost too perfect--it's very dry. When I want milk in my drink, I use the Latte attachment rather than the Cappuccino one and get, what is for me, a perfect combination of hot milk and froth. Nespresso offers many types of coffee in their capsules. Eventually, I'll likely be reordering just the Ristretto and the Decaffeinato Intenso. The Ristretto is the embodiment of everything a fine, classic espresso should be.

Love this Machine!
I bought this
machine
after being offered a sample cappuccino made in Bed, Bath & Beyond. Found the same machine on Amazon for $80 less. I just love it! It it easy to use with great results. The
milk
frother
is also awesome. I feel like I'm drinking a cappuccino made in an expensive cafe. My family loves it and I can't wait to try it on family and friends!
Great little espresso machine
I've been using a Keurig
single
serve
coffee maker for several years for the convenience. The coffee is acceptable but no substitute for a good cup of
espresso
or latte. I was treated to a
Nespresso
demo at Williams Sonoma and was sold at the first taste. I love coffee, especially rich, full bodied coffees and espressos but my husband doesn't drink much so it's not worth the trouble to brew a pot or to invest in a really great espresso
machine
, etc. hence the Keurig. I have a very old espresso machine that still works but I don't have the time or patience early in the morning to use it. I'd seen this machine but for some reason I had assumed it was not in my price range. What a pleasant surprise to find that it didn't cost any more than our Keurig for the
C100
/
Aero
ccino package, which is a must if you use
milk
or cream in your coffee.
First, let me say that I don't like what passes for a latte at Starbucks, essentially hot milk with a dash of espresso, or a cappuccino which is half hot milk and half foamed milk with a dollop of espresso - or their coffee that's boiling and usually bitterly strong. I also don't drink the syrupy sweet coffee creations that rake in the bucks from the kids. I want to enjoy the flavor and richness of the coffee which is easier said than done now that everyone's thrown their towel in the ring.
I highly recommend the machine for ease of use and quality of the product. There's a large selection of really good coffee, something for everyone. I was skeptical about having to buy the coffee online until I placed my order at 3 p.m. and received it the NEXT day. Some may balk at the price of the coffee capsules but its not competing with Folgers, and as with anything you pay for convenience. And yes, I'm sure that you can find a machine that makes better espresso but not at this price point.
If you want a good cup of coffee (lungo) or espresso or a latte and don't want to spend a lot of money or time, this is a very good machine.

Absolutely Delicious
These are excellent
machine
s. I've always liked
espresso
, though have never been an aficionado. Now I'm an addict. The
Nespresso
C100
Essenza
consistently produces rich, creamy espressos that surpass any I've had in good cafes and restaurants around the world, including Italy. And the
Aero
ccino
milk
frother
allows you to make unspeakably good cappucinos and lattes whose appearance, texture and flavor scream authenticity. Both machines could not be easier to use; they're clearly well made and built to last. The downside? Nespresso capsules are available only through the ridiculously pretentious "Nespresso Club," and the cost is high: .55-.65 apiece. So beware: If you buy these machines, you WILL become addicted, and like any addiction, it will cost you. Which, come to think of it, probably explains the relatively low up front cost of the machines.

Milk frother is the let down...
the N
espresso
machine
is AWESOME, i love it. It's easy to use and clean and makes a mean espresso. The
Aero
ccino on the other hand is a total let down. It constantly over flows, even when you fill it to the designated lines and honestly it doesnt make the
milk
that hot! So, buy the
Nespresso
and pass on this particular milk
frother
!
