Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal horrifying event of their livesSystem Requirements:Running Time: 84 minutesFormat:

Keeps your attention
Interesting and just creepy enough to give me the chills. Yeah the camera could make you a little dizzy but it's not too bad if you watch it on a smaller screen. Not the best movie I've seen but it's entertaining. Worth watching once.
Fun movie, but not sure if you want to watch it more than once
Basically, this movie is Godzilla - Tokyo S.O.S. or a Godzilla ripoff save for the fact that the monster is a little bit different. And it poops out little monsters to ravage through the subway systems.
However, what distinguishes this movie from the average monster stomping movie is the way that it uses the The Blair Witch Project conceit to maximum effect. One actually wonders why it's taken so long for filmmakers to use the handheld cameras in big budget movies. The characters might be a bit superficial at the beginning (seems like a beer commercial) but once they are on the run and once they start dying, it reaches an immediacy that borders on Greek Tragedy. Much like The Ruins (Vintage) (Vintage), we kind of know that the characters are doomed, but we can't look away.
What also makes this movie so compelling is the way it manages to invoke 9/11 in ways that regular 9/11 movies just can't achieve. It's fun, but there's a wariness behind the fun. Ultimately this is one of those movies that will haunt you and stay with you long after you are finished viewing it. Although I must say that one viewing may be enough.
