Passover by Design, the fifth in the popular Kosher by Design cookbook series, author Susie Fishbein, puts together this stunning Passover cookbook. She has re-worked recipes from her previous four books and selected the very best that could be converted for Passover use. She has also included over thirty brand-new recipes. She also collaborated with Moshe David, of Fig and Palm restaurant to bring us very creative new dishes that you never thought could be used for Passover. This cookbook includes over 130 gluten-free recipes which makes this the perfect year-round cookbook for those on a gluten-free diet.

I don't own any of Fishbein's books but I have many friends who keep a kosher home who believe her cookbooks are the best. So I went right to the source for their feedback, my women's spirituality group. I asked them to take a look and make some comments as they scanned the beautifully photographed pages. Here is what they said...

"Unlike most Passover cookbooks, these recipes look good enough to make year-round." "Stunning photos! Inspiring and creative table presentation." "She has some creative kosher-for-Passover breading replacements."

In a recent interview with About.com Fishbein was asked, "What do you usually serve for Passover Seder?" She answered, "This year I will be featuring amazing foods out of the new Passover by Design book. Teriyaki Chicken Sates. Beef Roulades in Red Wine Reduction over Creamy Parsnips. And Warm, Runny Chocolate Soufflés will definitely make the list."

Sounds good to me but I want to try the Pistachio Chicken Skewers with Blackberry Sauce, the Chardonnay Poached Salmon and the Cauliflower Popcorn. My favorite décor idea from this book is the one in which she suggests using Bento Boxes at each person's place. In each compartment she places one of the ceremonial Seder items.
