It only looks serious. The Z1012 is pure fun to use. Though it appears like an SLR camera, the Kodak Easyshare 1012IS sports a long 12x optical zoom with its 33-396 mm (35 mm equiv.) f/2.8-4.8 SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON Lens. So even though you can't change lenses, the focal length means you don't have to. 10.1-megapixel resolution captures still images at up to 3672?2748 for exquisite detail. Want to take movies? Fantastic for the Beginning Photographer!

This camera is definitely a fantastic buy for anybody who is wanting to learn more about photography but still have the comforts of the automatic settings. After recently taking this camera on a day trip to a state park (Letchworth in NY), it proved to have a fine battery life with the Kodak recharables (over 100 pictures over the course of 8 or so hours) and had excellent pictures! The one feature I found most impressive was how well the stitching went for the panoramic shots. They certainly turned out beautiful! The automatic "smart mode" really helps you to capture some beautiful moments, and the automatic touch-up performed really helps you gauge your pictures. The color was amazing, and the ease of use was really nice. The software, which I've grown accustomed to, is quite easy and useful to transfer your pictures and charge the camera if you have the dock. Definitely a great camera!

Very good image quality. Short next-shot & 1st-shot delay. Dynamic range, ISO with best quality of 800. Versatile manual control & manual focus & can zoom optically when recording video. Easy to use

Cons:
AA lithium battery only last a day,The lens cap

Produces images with excellent sharpness, although I did notice some slight noise. Sony cyber shot DSC-H10 can't match the performance of this camera, & most of all the Price. I highly recommend it!
