This video was made by a highly motivated, state-of-the-art, but shoestring budget team (of geniuses)... eight years ago. However, if you can forgive the fact that has the quality that was available at that time and can also enjoy trippy, slightly-repetitive stuff even without the benefit of pharmecuticals... and optionally/especially if your sense of humor includes Dan Quayle... you MUST buy this tape. I sprung this on a group of friends late night at a party and their minds were efficiently useless the rest of the night.
EBN's claim to fame is the creation of a musical sampler program that hooked a MIDI keyboard up to... not sound clips... but video clips. From this, they do things like remake Queen's "We will rock you!" anthem, spoken by President Bush, while President Clinton implores "Everybody, deep in their hearts, _must_get_down_!" Very trippy, and even without the humor the music stands fairly well on it's own. This video and some of their other stuff got them hired to help with U2's ZooTV tour and various strangeness for a latenight MTV show called Amp.
A friend of mine insisted on borrowing it... and I've decided that if I had been smart I would have bought him one as a gift anyway. I'm going to tell him to keep my copy and I'm ordering another one instead of making an illegal copy because (1) that would be illegal (yah), (2) it's that good, and (3) I'd rather pay for a new one than further degrade the already increasing gap between what we considered normal video quality now and what we considered high quality in 1992. (Not that it's snowy, it's just dated, but to make a slightly snowy _and_ dated copy isn't worth cheating EBN of any royalties.)
This is an amazing ambience for cocktail parties, and a definite mind distraction with creativity beyond belief.
