Predator
wreaked havoc in the jungle and struck box-office gold, so Hollywood logic dictated that Predator 2 should raise hell in the big, bad city. Los Angeles, to be specific, and this near-future L.A. (circa 1997) is an ultra-violent playground for the invisibility-cloaked alien that hunted Arnold Schwarzenegger in the previous film. Scant explanation is given for the creature's return, and because Ah-nuld was busy making Total Recall, Danny Glover was awkwardly installed as the maverick cop (is there any other kind?) who defies a government goon (Gary Busey) to curtail the alien's inner-city killing spree. But why bother, when the victims are scummy Colombian drug lords? Don't look for intelligent answers; director Stephen Hopkins favors wall-to-wall action over sensible plotting, allowing Stan Winston's more prominently featured Predator to join the ranks of iconic movie monsters. And anticipating Alien vs. Predator in comic books and in theaters, there's a familiar-looking skull in the Predator's trophy case! --Jeff Shannon

For once Hollywood comes through.
I thought they'd drop the ball like they do on almost every sequel.
Not the case with P2.
They made the movie in the city which was WAY better than doing a remake of the first one which is in the jungle.
The Voodoo street gang is generic and stereotypical, but who cares.
It's all about the
Predator
baby!!!
The acting is ok, the directing is ok.
All in all, it's not nearly as good as the original but I praise Hollywood for having the restraint/common sense to stop after two.
It's a worthy follow up to the original and worth checking out.

predator
2 is a very intertaining movie which i think is better than the first in many ways. the GOOD parts of the movie are listed bellow:
-new fancy gangets for the predator to play around with.
-better affects than the first
-good acting
-and LOTS of other stuff.
i highly think that whoever liked the first should get this.
One of Hollywood's BIG mistakes
When this movie first came out and was in the theaters, it was rated NC-17. It was probably the best Sci-Fi action movie ever put on film. A few months later it came out on VHS tape rated R. They had cut about 15 minutes of the movie out and gave it an R rating. Only someone like me who went to the movies to see it would know. The R rated version leaves out alot of stuff, mainly the good action/violence scenes. It seems quit choppy and leaves you wondering a few things that were explained in the original. If the people who make these DVD's have an ounce of brains they will find the NC-17 version and put it out before Christmas. They'd sell millions of them. R. Lee Rochester, NY P.S. I would give the original 6 stars
