A MUST HAVE for buyers
This is basically a Kelly Blue
Book
on steroids for those looking to purchase, or already own and want detailed info about, the
Porsche
911
. If you're just a casual "fun" reader this might not be the right book for you. 5 Stars for what it's intended to be though.
Just What I Was Looking For
No colo

pictures, just b&w, but good technical data that is easy to follow for those of us in the market for a used
911
.

A fine quick reference for the next time you're surfing the used 911 listings
The
Red
Book
is logically organized by model year series, and within each series Paternie highlights the changes year-over-year. VIN numbers can be easily bracketed into the various production runs, and engine/drivetrain specs, suspension, wheel, and braking setups, interior trim/color combinations, and various special edition anomalies are all well presented. My own
911
search is currently ongoing, but the Red Book has helped me very quickly narrow down my choice range and verify new offerings as I encounter them.
A good reference for looking up your VIN.
Also provides a nice summary for each type of the
911
family. Unfortunately, the black and white pictures don't do the
Porsche
s enough justice, so don't buy this
book
as a photo album.
